美语中有些字眼在中文里面似乎找不到可代换的字, 其中感情方面的字好象就占了不少。也许有一天你会跟老外交往, 也或许你只是有兴趣认识这些字, 这个单元是恋爱一族不可不看的喔!

美国人关于交友的用词和我们有些不同。这里的 "he is seeing somebody" 有可能指他刚正开始和某人交往, 也可能指他和对方已经交往了一阵子。还有一个美国人常用来形容他们的「感情状况」的字是"relationship"。到目前为止，我还不能找到一个很贴切的中文来代替它。

% k" V; z* O1 r美国人对于亲属辈份关系的区分, 并不像我们那么清楚。这里的 "sister" 可能指「姊姊」, 也可能指「妹妹」，须要另外问才清楚。

"hook up" 是"connection"的意思, 相当于中文里的「介绍、认识」之类的词, 并不单指男女之间的认识。比如某人正在找份工作, 他的朋友刚好认识比尔盖兹（BillGates）。他就可以跟这位朋友说"Hey! Since you're a friend of Bill's, why don't you hook me up?" （嘿! 既然你是比尔的朋友, 帮我介绍一下吧!）
