1 q; n& x4 p2 p5 V上周五,数百名亲朋好友聚集在爱城卫戍区沉痛悼念在阿富汗阵亡的七名英烈。

在纪念会上,英烈的照片摆放在会厅的中央,亲朋纷纷上台向死者表达了无限哀思,。

七名士兵是前不久在阿富汗维和行动中阵亡的。

) E' X8 u1 M7 X6 D# r& O
Master Cpl. Raymond Arndt, 31, of Edson, Alta., a reservist with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment. He was killed when his vehicle and a civilian truck collided near Kandahar City on Aug. 5.

7 S5 L/ k Q( ~- z' R n* FSgt. Vaughan Ingram, 35, of the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry and from Burgeo, N.L., who died after a rocket-propelled grenade attack by Taliban militants Aug. 3 on the outskirts of Kandahar. & R( D: O; H" T. W( Z. d0 g

Cpl. Christopher Jonathan Reid, 34, of Truro, N.S., from the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, killed when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb near Kandahar Aug. 4. . ]0 X9 h! k: P' V T0 g8 ?
* [5 V# @, @3 L: L3 i' XCpl. Francisco Gomez, 44, of Edmonton, 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. He was killed July 22, when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a convoy Gomez was in near Kandahar. 9 G, h4 f N; f* ?

Maj. Rich Raymond给予了这些士兵最高敬意。并向所有在阿富汗执行维和任务的人员表示敬意。

年仅27岁的阵亡战士Keller的妻子Sarah也是一名军人,在纪念会上她向大家讲述了她的丈夫是生平事迹以及愿望,在场的人听着无不动容。/ S) q- W2 E& u. P4 \" D; P

在场的许多军人是从阿富汗回来的。

2 \6 S/ |' y) Y: }7 _& |) xMaster Cpl. Mark Brownell坐在轮椅上也到场了。他在阿富汗被榴弹所伤,胳脯和腿上还緾着绑带。他称他在八月三日那次榴弹袭击中能存活下来是幸运的,因为他的三名战友在那次袭击中牺牲了。

Brownell称他和其它士兵的最大愿望就是得到家人和民众的支持。
