Edmonton home builders say they are working non-stop to meet a demand they haven’t seen since the boom of 2005.( a- ^9 l, p* U3 c

Builders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013.& ]3 O: I2 ^* k# n" i5 ~
r# O% H! i- L, v“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes.2 y4 L# g7 u$ M" ]
' f( K) B% p( R }8 GThe increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
