Anything related to water frozen in basement is a serious issue, it has to have immediate attention.
Few minutes work if just the safety expansion valve leaks ( most probably only the valve) $ q; `5 Z* w* n6 X3 Q) X% r 5 G. L( h) D; O7 w' `' Q5 H' GClose the main water inlet valve; 9 o1 p2 j$ m7 t3 E5 o- h, fopen all faucets in the house including showers to drain all water out in the pipe line; , r. O0 a' R& z) rClose the cold water valve to the water tank if you have one; 7 P* O2 C6 J8 o8 DShut down the hot water tank by closing the temperature switch to off; ' j" p1 a- S" U5 ]# y! BOpen the drain valve at the bottom to drain all the water out; 9 g0 T2 F3 e! i8 o& R7 YThen remove the expansion valve, go to home or Canadian tire. they all have one.3 Y: _2 h$ k- e1 T

The humidifier is even simpler. The drain hose is supposed to have water go thorough the humidifier filter inside the housing and then goes to drain when furnace is on.
