Uppal also defends bill C-24, legislation that allows the government to strip citizenship from dual citizens convicted of terrorism or treason. He said when someone has been convicted and served their time of a charge as serious as terrorism it’s common sense to deport them.4 x- K" _7 Y% k! f& d
“If we can have their citizenship stripped, because they’re a dual citizen, than I would rather not have them in this country,” he said.; A4 P" i# Z8 ~4 U# y; t

Sohi said he would prefer convicted terrorist stay within the reach of Canadian law.
