When an employer terminates employment

An employer must give an employee whose employment is being terminated written termination# W) R N9 u8 X; x j; d
notice of at least:
! c: h4 p% K+ \* Z& S3 o" _; T
& X& @: ]5 q% U5 j: N) O0 N• one week for employment of more than 3 months, but less than 2 years;3 \2 R1 F! v8 L- r& J
• two weeks for employment of 2 years or more, but less than 4 years;
4 Z$ L4 h* y( U9 J" m5 s. d" @• four weeks for employment of 4 years or more, but less than 6 years;* b! {1 Q6 {3 J" @5 e1 l& j3 K
• five weeks for employment of 6 years or more, but less than 8 years;+ f- Q& e% o' H+ c
• six weeks for employment of 8 years or more, but less than 10 years; and
+ h9 f, p+ i* M7 E. T• eight weeks for employment of 10 years or more.9 W6 d, X) `$ f, D2 @ c6 X! K
Some employees may be entitled to a greater notice period by the courts than the minimum
