Ottawa is going to apologize and give millions to former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Omar Khadr, according to multiple reports. 5 @0 y- y% K7 M
: n/ |9 c+ U0 B) kKhadr — who pleaded guilty to killing a U.S. soldier when he was 15, under interrogation that was later deemed "oppressive" — will receive a settlement of more than $10 million, according to unnamed sources who spoke to The Associated Press, The Toronto Star and The Globe and Mail.

The Star said Khadr will get more than $10 million, but less than the $20 million he sought in a civil suit. Other reports said he will receive about $10 million.( P+ K m! ?9 M0 x2 A, e3 _

The government and Khadr's lawyers negotiated the deal last month, according to AP. 5 C- s" H, L3 S8 q

: L$ d- Y5 I! z) {3 x2 R; ~9 gThe Canadian-born Khadr was 15 when he was captured by U.S. troops following a firefight at a suspected al-Qaeda compound in Afghanistan that resulted in the death of an U.S. special forces medic, Sgt. Christopher Speer.
