Students at the University of Alberta have voted in favour of mandatory bus passes, a move that will cost students an extra $75 every term./ l' W) _, ]% r* V# t

Getting to this point took five years of debate and negotiations, said U of A student union president Samantha Power on Friday.

/ i2 u- p$ _. r s* m3 U- q5 @"We really needed to make sure that it was affordable for students because it's mandatory. We didn't want students who don't use transit as often to be put at a disadvantage, so at $75 for four months, it's about one round trip a week."
