TORONTO -- Sun Life Financial Inc. said Monday it is retiring the Clarica brand as part of a revised marketing strategy.
& Z) c. y' z9 K8 oClarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.9 U* y, Y/ S2 O; b3 J( p
There are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.+ O. d: {: Q! L) c1 j
/ I# `. {3 P: d- oThe company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.
