Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Job description
9 m7 h2 w( J) R( W' E; aStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and2 @9 Y+ S7 L8 W' {$ J
weekend hours.
j1 Q: X6 x: I* x8 RYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
4 r9 S+ q" L& b" `/ C7 t( ylab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the- o2 P/ o S: g; B6 q4 g4 V
centre.7 \9 Z* ^" d! B& Y& P
These responsibilities include:9 V. R& ?# N/ S: L5 Z3 Y; \9 G
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC./ f8 X0 w6 b! X0 H( e
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.2 ` d8 H9 a* b ^6 O7 k5 h N
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
, X+ E" d6 E* D z. brenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
# s& `& B9 m% L6 u ^facilities’ maintenance, etc.
1 { G5 C; Y; `" u-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic " S/ F/ z& x- B3 i v" E/ u+ E9 T) e
clients’ files etc.

Education:
! e! x; b7 g O4 S7 j& w4 i-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 0 f( O1 o' p3 [
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
$ Y4 S$ Y# ?1 B, xof education, training and /or experience.
9 W0 h% @* E0 P" I3 ?Knowledge/Technical competencies:
; C) x- L4 `; ?+ H W-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
8 e+ V0 W ?) Z$ G-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word/ `( `# }) f4 s
and Excel.
7 J' s1 n, x4 T& I2 B9 ^+ Y-Experience using and updating an information database.
