currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
3 J8 ?# I0 d9 T# o7 ~$ Q( Epay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
, P# K7 j% B1 f7 q0 }the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

( N- M% a7 f! d, h/ V; |Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
+ f6 Z% Q0 T9 f, h! W3 vCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
1 v: ]! i  f% D$ c5 ^8 u" A2 aparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
6 t; ^; _2 e; i* J" O" g9 D! I$ itheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
& d+ Z& l6 d' v" Qassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
; o0 w8 w" p- a) rexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
+ v1 P, ?& @: h0 \+ {excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
9 e! F1 T: L8 V/ Q4 q% _( ufunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
- Z9 D0 Q! j% T) F- Lsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
: L& j7 N1 y4 }& H" v0 _, Spresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

/ h: t! a1 E, D+ wQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
& }. a+ M. ?% n6 k7 SCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
9 m) f+ ^! @, h# \1 b$ d5 wskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
