11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

) w- j$ G& \5 U8 c2 ~: j0 e' rJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
6 p! Y' ~2 R% u! ]4 o& G$ hcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
, u0 @  y# `* i. H8 F/ C6 m1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
, _, }& t3 O' o* q( X  Oorders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
8 t6 w2 z" S8 s. }0 fhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

: A1 ^9 U' C9 m3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
% m( B0 [( H& a9 ]) ptotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
, P+ I3 {5 ?- W7 W1 W9 b  j% L6 xincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
/ V4 x* S4 p- y3 I# R/ xaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
2 l( U% s& |/ f3 i6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
% b. X+ r) i6 R2 vAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

4 _4 B, d4 z% a4 p7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

0 b6 U0 M/ l+ m; O5 lQUALIFICATIONS;
' W  c1 S3 f8 _, r( M3 C! f2 {1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

* A% _% T5 W( w: |0 R9 c, p# `& g( A2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
8 K; z/ \. f% S- @, z/ X" D. Y; b: v' D1 koperation.

3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

9 E6 u' ]2 @* C/ V& IWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
