BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

3 r: P; l2 \. o9 a8 A" _5 }& zJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the    x/ ^6 z& B+ }1 A5 T- P; ?4 X
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
" B+ B9 I" v0 j: P7 bprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
7 P3 y0 M: F6 V, T8 a& ^cleanliness and order in the bar.% Q6 k; ^2 X2 Q  _* s$ z) p5 @

# P4 H6 i! }( x% \3 |5 ^5 KDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:# K( ~$ L5 Z% P; N' ^
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
! l8 ]3 w! k' a1 v* Wbeverage items.
( C  {# q; b4 \& m
, ^: n( k9 e  _* U( O" N2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
* Y4 O! o4 a; tbar and debit floats.6 i( j2 l* K+ f" D5 J
) [4 A% u. F- W9 ?* j* ^) x
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  ) A. G- s4 x: c) P) k+ V
each shift, and upon closing.* w- W( P0 r( a, J
0 X0 t! U9 ?1 J$ ?# G2 H# L2 ]
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  & V+ t2 Y+ t$ n# I9 _. m: S
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
, i- {& H* \- [  Q# ], xseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.: V8 ?0 f/ `* a9 H5 P! O3 @+ b

  |& o" `1 _; g. c; ]8 j: L5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
7 j6 o9 P; m0 @storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  , e8 i4 V, ?4 t  q8 y9 `
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
& S" t0 C: j$ S7 q" E& L& s: |8 z4 ]" m7 C' H' w/ f2 ?
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
" e; |6 c3 P2 L6 h) q5 pmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  . f- |  t0 u9 H
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
! @, J4 D1 M) d# |accordance with Students' Union policies., J. _+ e. D3 i; s4 s6 }
6 n" q6 |( I- f9 l/ r, c. h( @! p
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
6 b; J$ j% X  V6 E  g+ O2 Thigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.* t% }% P0 F) J( }9 |
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  6 h, G3 x" a  e5 L5 P2 h6 J
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
% P- j( q) [8 `" i; P+ I+ v4 ~# r# h; p
9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
- i9 d9 [- H2 X' ?Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager." t; F, h9 j+ H) o9 D8 [8 O

  g' D0 Z$ N8 c/ HQUALIFICATIONS:' G5 k/ z/ a+ X; N" D; i' `3 L8 {
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
7 _9 c+ o) Z; G: J$ r8 Z! v4 p
% _4 M& y% ]# f6 Z# X2 S! g7 }! v2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
% c+ K' ^) e* L  e! r8 |4 {; toperation." x) \* b# U! P2 W& U

% x6 L- `1 d. e# m0 R3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
4 N, z+ g  V  y! u. M2 daccordance with Students' Union policy.& }1 p+ L* m2 V# S/ _: c7 v1 e1 ?% C/ X

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs." t3 F# Q* @2 o! }! Q% z1 F9 o

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
5 @: j9 j5 Q9 j3 j) P$ uUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  ) M  h2 U: H2 @. @- l4 f' H

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
