22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  , z% ~6 E) H2 W- c3 x9 o
through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
" D" j; W0 j/ w; i6 V. p* GOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  * V/ C$ g# P+ e, {
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  # O' @4 _' d' V& }3 D" m
cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
( O9 Z" W  ~, g1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
1 m( m+ F: x+ \- E: wbeverage items.
) l* i6 ^9 e/ p
# L! b  K# X: k2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  3 v1 _) D6 ~3 g. l( |9 j4 X
bar and debit floats.3 g- V+ x# f- ?) n; ~/ g

; g  s2 B, i/ A( S  ?! h8 L% _# e6 Y3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  4 f. F* }. K% X' J+ a8 d2 w
each shift, and upon closing.
$ N2 L* d4 e+ B3 B
& g# l; p8 X! i' i' _5 U4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  7 z9 `' N% N: E( k# J' a% L/ t) Z
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
6 H% n/ W) _2 W8 f+ U3 D3 Eseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

5 E9 e+ `9 Y1 l! E# D' p9 u( J+ u5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in    _; m/ F6 Z- j" t
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
) O8 _( q. c8 B+ J) bproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.6 v. w' ^7 R3 x6 S% a

6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  : ?$ f& @2 a4 L  H7 Z  i) S6 R  t
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
* A% ^0 d/ ^" C. r& w, \9 q" [high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  & Y# t2 v' x1 f$ C* ~; ^) C/ _
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  5 y5 Q; k! q8 J5 v
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
' V, C! E0 E7 |5 d0 e( p To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
' E7 Y; `! h- GAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  8 H7 d# h$ S9 ~0 d0 G; _8 F  Z, m/ H

6 J6 t5 N2 ?  L1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.* P$ L" L6 Q0 l' H9 A3 v

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  ' \; T4 l' O2 u/ a
operation.2 M5 A6 F& c9 z$ x9 n

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  7 q2 a' b) Z, H/ x$ E
accordance with Students' Union policy.
! G: w; Z  ?3 P  s: Q: e" T5 q1 K4 g4 K' {/ x, R
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
$ W( @% R7 j8 _! V; c* s9 A
) }/ ?( W: ~, I7 f! K' X, U5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  % s0 B  _( Z/ e& _
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
0 @+ c8 f2 {! C. K3 rattitude.
