Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
: \2 ^6 Z( u3 l: U3 ^8 Vworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
, Y7 n* ~% D: h) z3 G1 T6 o( Jpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
% P! k" {+ `2 L6 e; m/ gaffairs at all times.

6 a0 K' N9 K- T8 y& `Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
5 s/ e9 N, D% f; W; H5 |. uarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
3 Z% N$ \- S) o! x  ato implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
* C- s$ f; f8 ]5 _' ~1 \1 ethe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
) s; u" v. A. nthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

2 p5 ]1 K; b* B  sKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
) [- }8 Z+ g+ l; O/ Z+ \work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
0 O% ], \: R) ?1 Dmanaging projects and budgets.

proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
