The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

& c3 T; W9 U* ~1 }2 z4 ]Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
( f3 _: f- Y! _7 v& u, A" Kand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
- w8 U6 u6 ~0 o! |1 M5 J2 z+ ?8 `/ tnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
1 j! q: z: k8 Caffairs at all times.

4 L+ I3 ^. q; Q& OPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
: K; ~% P0 L0 m* Amedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
% M" p6 P8 ]3 T* p9 othe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
- }- v( S( _0 G5 e! e; A' Bincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
0 o5 e- H7 e+ _& G2 G! r: a  upartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
$ a! c% ~4 c- K, [8 [* Q& M& Z/ K# jorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
) N( f  L% G1 e- Rprocesses an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
