Edmonton Transit is currently seeking applications for the challenging position of Conventional Transit Operator — for positions starting in Summer 2007. This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes. R. O, f/ p. P9 ?& ^- h' }& A
• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.8 m( v2 z; X- w( `5 E+ H
• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.8 ]8 `2 s( ~. V& D
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
. P9 J1 @" q! W+ [& m• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
) w" F3 ^, v4 o7 M, r! n• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.

7 G6 b# K0 n: t- `# }5 P6 nshowing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.
