Our last phased expansion project, 1998 - 2005 Air Terminal Redevelopment Project, including the parkade, South Terminal and Central Hall, was completed for approximately $280 million, giving EIA a 5.5 million passenger capacity.

6 W; V% T5 l4 O" C1 VWe expected to reach 5.5 million passengers, the trigger point for expansion by 2015; however, EIA will serve more than six million passengers in 2007 – accelerating the need to expand.- e+ E9 N c' f
z9 b6 Q+ U# n# [1 t( J6 mTo ensure passengers move through the airport as smoothly as possible and to minimize the terminal's physical, environmental and financial impact, Edmonton Airports is adopting "future airport" technologies such as self-serve check-in kiosks and check-in desks useable by any airline.
