innovation, commerce and social interaction. As the government develops
' n( w/ a& E |7 ?3 C5 E: u1 jCanada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look4 c: a- z5 t3 @
carefully at how issues like UBB affect the big picture. We will be

: q/ R$ ~) U1 g( X/ schosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large4 O+ }( s3 C7 `$ h0 p! y6 K( d
number of Canadians. Details of the CRTC consultation are available at

government will carefully assess the CRTC position to ensure that it is in& l- B# M9 a) C
line with the best interests of Canadian consumers and encourages
- Q9 {; x/ m: c, y3 Z3 l# kcompetition among internet service providers. I will be recommending that
0 r3 \% {/ G! X2 E" [& D1 F6 kany decision counter to these foundational principles be reversed.
