Bill gates等退学，不代表退学生都能成为Bill gates式成功人士。我们家长对孩子的期待，不能追求小概率，更不能认为上重点学校就肯定没出息。你尚年轻，不为人父母，体会不了做父母的心情。

我很同意你不攀比的理念，但是我觉得人对成就和金钱也不应该无所追求。西方人说，with great power comes great responsibilites. 中国人说，穷则独善其身，达则兼济天下。其实都是说，首先你要修炼自身，提高自身能力后，（发达了）去服务社会。回到去重点学校上，我觉得孩子有能力有兴趣上，是一件好事。

6 Y9 d1 e3 T1 F& m) \5 G我认为是：自己弱的时候不要好高骛远，要努力加强自己身能力。Bill gates不也是先有微软作了首富才开始慈善事业的吗？当然这不是说我们现在能力微小就不贡献社会作义工了，勿以善小而不为嘛。而是说我们如果能够更强大，对社会的贡献和影响也会更大。

我还真不这是孟爷爷说的，我通常不注意谁说的，关注的是说的是什么，怎么运动到现实生活中

答案不是更显然了吗? 成功的成因很多，你不需要名牌大学成功，但是名牌大学的成功率会更高些，我们做家长的，当然希望孩子冲着高概率去了。

我们做家长的，当然希望孩子冲着高概率去了。Damn right you can only HOPE. At late teens they'll make their own decisions. Your time of running their lives is over.

- Academic performance is merely an indicator of potential for success.
- Academic performance does not indicate insured success.
- Academic performance is not the only indicator for success.
2 u* ~2 q  L* J6 @, O  n- 名牌大学 is only helpful if they've got what it takes to survive - talent and dedication wise. Otherwise they will just crash and burn and leave with a lowered self-esteem.
- Parents don't have the right to decide or to mislead their children on whether they want a high profile/stressful life, or a mediocre/peaceful life. If the parents want to show off or to compare, use house, cars, jobs, penis size, anything. Just not your children.

Z我孩子上大一，去年os毕业的。这个帖子给他看了，他很不同意一些观点，孩子认为这是所非常锻炼人的学校，哈哈，想不到吧？通过孩子的视角看，他认为：该校学习效率高，社会学也复杂。到了大一，发现一个很有趣的现象，那就是大学里面一有合作作业os的孩子很自然的就凑在一起，为什么呢？他说其他学校的毕业生效率底（有点偏颇，不要拍孩子），而且考虑问题的角度单一。不像os的毕业生，一个问题，几个考虑角度，解决方法。用教授的话说：你们os的孩子不要想太多。其他学校的孩子要多想想。os的毕业生在大学里很有点优越感的，总嫌os外的孩子反映慢。当然没有歧视的意思，只不过孩子都贪玩，干什么都想快一点，完事了好玩去。
; Y: U! r: r" }# \8 v" D- {9 i' Q去年我孩子的同学去了麦秸尔医学院，直接上的大2，人家学校说：os的毕业生成绩好，可以直接上大2。
- x& c; L! U7 W4 ], q, n每年藤校都会专门到os来招生，只是不少孩子听从家长的决定，留在家门前上大学。
仁者见仁，哈哈。。。。。。。。不喜欢我回复的，绕道。

So? I can say 65,831 good, unique things about my high school too. The best high school is always the one yourself went to.

I did high school tutoring for years. Many students were from Old Scona. They were not any smarter or faster than the kids from other high schools.

. r2 \9 _7 G" e" k( R& KWait till your child pass 大一, that's when the real challenge starts. Everyone will be equalized.

4 U3 P( Z2 j: y3 `9 q0 E8 T还要看孩子自己的意愿，孩子愿意去当然更好了。我邻居的孩子考上了，选择不去，现在也快上大学了，也蛮开心的整天。关键是看孩子自己的想法。

我对你的观点没有异议，问题是你认定家长的目的就是攀比市侩，对我们广大家长很judgemental哎。难道家长教育孩子不夸大学，中途辍学才是正确引导？

我们中国人讲中庸，凡事不能走极端，尊重孩子意愿并不是放任自流，至于这个度各家情况不同，掌握也不同，所谓因材施教。孩子材质不同，教法不同，但是重点还在教，否则就是“子不教父之过”了

I am not a stereotype but 9 out 10 家长 I know can't stop yapping about their kids every time my mom and I run into them. It's annoying as fuck. I believe that you're a good mother and doing an excellent work with parenting but you can't expect the same from others.
