我的意思仅仅是：
Bill gates等退学，不代表退学生都能成为Bill gates式成功人士。我们家长对孩子的期待，不能追求小概率，更不能认为上重点学校就肯定没出息。你尚年轻，不为人父母，体会不了做父母的心情。

至于怎么就和处对象联系上了，我还没有搞清楚这个逻辑关系

我很同意你不攀比的理念，但是我觉得人对成就和金钱也不应该无所追求。西方人说，with great power comes great responsibilites. 中国人说，穷则独善其身，达则兼济天下。其实都是说，首先你要修炼自身，提高自身能力后，（发达了）去服务社会。回到去重点学校上，我觉得孩子有能力有兴趣上，是一件好事。

你说我惹我一小P孩干嘛？

我认为是：自己弱的时候不要好高骛远，要努力加强自己身能力。Bill gates不也是先有微软作了首富才开始慈善事业的吗？当然这不是说我们现在能力微小就不贡献社会作义工了，勿以善小而不为嘛。而是说我们如果能够更强大，对社会的贡献和影响也会更大。

我还真不这是孟爷爷说的，我通常不注意谁说的，关注的是说的是什么，怎么运动到现实生活中

答案不是更显然了吗? 成功的成因很多，你不需要名牌大学成功，但是名牌大学的成功率会更高些，我们做家长的，当然希望孩子冲着高概率去了。

名牌大学的成功率会更高些. I agree. A university degree is often touted as being a prerequisite to a good life and a high income. Thanks again for stating the obvious.

我们做家长的，当然希望孩子冲着高概率去了。Damn right you can only HOPE. At late teens they'll make their own decisions. Your time of running their lives is over.

My points are:

- Academic performance is merely an indicator of potential for success.
- Academic performance does not indicate insured success.
- Academic performance is not the only indicator for success.
- 名牌大学 is only helpful if they've got what it takes to survive - talent and dedication wise. Otherwise they will just crash and burn and leave with a lowered self-esteem.
- Parents don't have the right to decide or to mislead their children on whether they want a high profile/stressful life, or a mediocre/peaceful life. If the parents want to show off or to compare, use house, cars, jobs, penis size, anything. Just not your children.

我孩子上大一，去年os毕业的。这个帖子给他看了，他很不同意一些观点，孩子认为这是所非常锻炼人的学校，哈哈，想不到吧？通过孩子的视角看，他认为：该校学习效率高，社会学也复杂。到了大一，发现一个很有趣的现象，那就是大学里面一有合作作业os的孩子很自然的就凑在一起，为什么呢？他说其他学校的毕业生效率底（有点偏颇，不要拍孩子），而且考虑问题的角度单一。不像os的毕业生，一个问题，几个考虑角度，解决方法。用教授的话说：你们os的孩子不要想太多。其他学校的孩子要多想想。os的毕业生在大学里很有点优越感的，总嫌os外的孩子反映慢。当然没有歧视的意思，只不过孩子都贪玩，干什么都想快一点，完事了好玩去。
去年我孩子的同学去了麦秸尔医学院，直接上的大2，人家学校说：os的毕业生成绩好，可以直接上大2。
每年藤校都会专门到os来招生，只是不少孩子听从家长的决定，留在家门前上大学。
仁者见仁，哈哈。。。。。。。。不喜欢我回复的，绕道。

So? I can say 65,831 good, unique things about my high school too. The best high school is always the one yourself went to.

I did high school tutoring for years. Many students were from Old Scona. They were not any smarter or faster than the kids from other high schools.

Wait till your child pass 大一, that's when the real challenge starts. Everyone will be equalized.

还要看孩子自己的意愿，孩子愿意去当然更好了。我邻居的孩子考上了，选择不去，现在也快上大学了，也蛮开心的整天。关键是看孩子自己的想法。

我对你的观点没有异议，问题是你认定家长的目的就是攀比市侩，对我们广大家长很judgemental哎。难道家长教育孩子不夸大学，中途辍学才是正确引导？

我们中国人讲中庸，凡事不能走极端，尊重孩子意愿并不是放任自流，至于这个度各家情况不同，掌握也不同，所谓因材施教。孩子材质不同，教法不同，但是重点还在教，否则就是“子不教父之过”了

I am not a stereotype but 9 out 10 家长 I know can't stop yapping about their kids every time my mom and I run into them. It's annoying as fuck. I believe that you're a good mother and doing an excellent work with parenting but you can't expect the same from others.

你觉得这个学校不好，你不要去就行了，没人强迫你。
Os根本不缺生源，据说每年有4－5百人去争120个名额。
