financial and operational success of the Horowitz Theatre as well as

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that 6 H) [+ q5 R8 I9 y# b
focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty, ' C. A; l$ c# I. I' r0 s1 E
students, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis.

· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
. p, O2 h+ Q2 m& U$ z7 }; lTheatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to 3 E2 q4 p3 S* v0 C0 a. I
take advantage of other internal and external advertising ( U6 f- R8 R2 t
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional 8 _% h2 e/ V: u1 d

· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.
( k$ n, t- b' h' g· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the

# }3 \& a+ X1 U8 ]+ q% pa. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
# X6 h) c I' ^- \2 r/ l" Yeffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
$ ~+ W; K- _" S. o2 Hvenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and / P( F6 F8 @+ @3 |, G2 c
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
X2 B% C7 ?% j- h+ O2 Hthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues ' H3 F6 b- ? g& K8 E
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
/ W3 j0 {7 c0 g7 eevaluating and terminating, as necessary.' w5 t. d1 ^' j
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at
1 h9 p4 F5 s! U1 i7 ^all times, this includes the development and implementation of such ; \3 `% C, S) @1 n( K- h
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and : l6 y3 q" W+ ~ c8 F, T; ?1 f
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
( L# a7 y& u! H, Qis in operation or needs to be in operation.
: a& U1 b0 @& [· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
, p r2 i4 ~( K& F% W+ f/ Bthat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to
8 L5 I% B& l! \) H5 Q1 R+ rfacilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all / q$ h' G$ ~4 A5 j

· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
- `3 V8 B$ t/ h" S% r0 D7 Rand attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
8 n$ R1 h: t# @# }) e3 j7 ?( hthe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and 6 W9 [; P* m7 Q, n9 ^) _& o
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and
' I6 c O$ H6 k8 Yappropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual & g% I/ G; n; B7 n1 m& d3 b
is kep up-to-date at all times.

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff 0 Z8 l% x: M4 t+ P. X z5 }
scheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance
7 f$ ~" i4 c( Zand direction of the Manager of Venues and Programming, concerning

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure ; {/ g O! h0 P g4 a4 M
the appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.4 }' \/ S, E' S
· Working with the Manager of Programming and Venues to ensure

a. To ensure, at all times, that the Financial and Administrative

/ j3 a* g8 B* ?( ^% Eappropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a 3 t/ _; S& @5 Z& ^- ` H& r! d$ B
positive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This 3 m* g9 C/ R( Y( J0 Y7 u

To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate & k! ?) i3 w1 }. O# v5 h8 L0 A( g
operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of * ~0 M' {7 @, ~/ A
Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets . }. E9 B- m0 | k0 H
Manager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance & ' ?" F0 g8 N6 ?
Administration prior to their submission for final approval.

· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and $ N! {7 L2 O; M$ q, L. e: O
administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the
; H3 D7 } z3 s( Scompilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such 2 {5 K# s. {# n& ~3 d; j

· To discuss those financial statements and other reports, together

costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and - ]$ {) D% F3 F* M) J
setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for - g2 e0 a9 b9 B& }3 x' y
events held in the Horowitz Theatre.
' U6 C$ A5 O9 J· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with 3 i2 l1 M0 A* Z u" [# R$ h5 i
the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely 8 e. F0 }& x* g: l' {: \; k6 |
manner to the Accounting Department.

and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects # F) |9 n9 n& G" d
the requirements of the SU´s Manager of Programming and Venues and # G& B k/ w9 L& m' V
Manager of Finance and Administration, and in a manner which

5. Overall Roles and Responsibilities
, k7 P7 [% q& q$ x- W; Ma. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in
: e; T7 p% o6 ]' W$ x4 n6 ^renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and 2 r t: r7 Q( e3 Y" N
needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the ! v5 z" t0 K$ l' t
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
7 X5 D- U8 Z5 o7 j2 V) M0 j* E& B7 I: j- x ?7 k! O! b7 `5 e
· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as ' j' x D) W! V' Y9 Z: ]! V
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this 0 x1 Q7 k2 }0 W* p' q9 z) X/ M
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes ! C2 U; \2 e/ Q
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,
9 v& W0 P6 v* Y6 _% }7 }# ]* D% cpricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing,
, N) B7 C, g* I1 Ztogether with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary
3 ]2 l2 K% m3 ]to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
; P9 J* ]0 l( o' ]2 o, V# Ofunctionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.7 A# k: B9 f4 {
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures ( X4 l. u6 X3 f. R
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
6 e; t1 |. J+ q/ S7 ieffective operation of the venues.
% |5 W$ ^( @3 Q; h1 ^· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
" W1 d) V# E" D' ~5 q+ Odates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges. ^9 D% W( y+ B0 b: J
· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
( N1 n: U) ?; W2 Fthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.
, [* _( i. j# @# p· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their
+ x6 `8 h- W1 Q7 Pparticular event in the venues.% Q& R( F4 f! F* ^
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and ! ^5 v! \1 G; @
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the
* h% d9 y& h" f0 e# B& froles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
% X. e% K" z# h- y+ k0 k· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular
" b3 j7 {) Q' {5 ?rental with consultation with the Technical Director.4 P" _5 H9 ?6 a
· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
6 y5 }) @3 b0 _3 vSU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately - D4 o Y2 q+ g6 g, k/ P& V: p
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in # V9 A Q& R6 g; Q! f O
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
" z. o7 b# i5 F& u: w7 Y To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
6 {2 k+ B: s- {2 j# @effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that ! Q6 F0 ?$ x4 R- H' |/ }+ v% V
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision
1 B3 V! j5 i" p; j; J8 `made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of
8 [2 Z8 ]4 h. mProgramming and Venues.9 r! V- w' C( n7 V) N" ?, {; s7 _# s
· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of 9 V0 t+ e! h ?, l
significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of ( Y. e; Z* E$ D& W: _# Y
marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as
' Q2 W5 s* g. }# wmay provide such challenges and/or problems.
( ]: N3 z) J; g· To attend such meetings as may be required to support the smooth

· To perform other job-related duties as may be required by the
