About background check

My case:
4 @1 T4 d: Y# T  C# r/ w& SFN Sep.11 2006
.....(nothing from then)
5 l+ \1 |4 y+ S5 D; V4 b
I sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

2 w. R7 ?% g9 ^: H- C) v: z"We have requested background information from other government
offices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
: j! @7 Y2 C9 t$ Pof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
the status of your application before this information is received."
/ n4 n3 e' m& e) d% R' {. w' N: T
Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

本人也不幸在被调查中...

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
