Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities" I+ @1 K/ q$ |5 k J" u
- submit information for community news ) @% k' n$ ^) D ~( k6 ]& t8 \. n
- provide volunteers to update membership database" {7 a! w- p( @7 r0 p3 ~
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
5 n1 [' d1 K5 S, D- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
1 k) J; X6 Z4 I; }- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties3 B+ O, C$ f6 y
- provide volunteers for various programs
. e# E# G7 g, X- L# k- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual) y1 e" n' n2 C O3 R2 B j- ]
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation6 v4 M: i9 [- w" i5 Q2 I" K T
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
* y0 a3 t! [; s7 d1 G2 W+ ~* ]- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services# {. R( s: O, x$ ^, f R: ?
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports7 i5 l5 U2 ?2 M0 ^! C
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed0 l. o+ B7 a7 o0 K3 U4 I
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
* B# X2 o0 k4 s- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
% @5 L; t( h; n; _: w- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events * ]6 x7 f- z2 h, m/ }, t( _
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ; p2 X7 U/ ^+ F0 W0 Y
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers . q8 s& _# U8 \$ }* Y0 q
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers - }) i3 L5 Y4 ?
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis # q* {9 T6 I8 e& D9 O! ~( C) ]# z9 n. L
- evaluations " o9 S! F# u3 i0 R5 Z
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre m4 S+ P' C- X2 D) J2 j! r1 t

Qualifications
% x+ _* W* j$ U' e0 w, q, A- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
0 H3 i: B- T0 E- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 b* f7 z- x* v: q% C* P j
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services; J) N; K( {$ r$ ^
- leadership skills, o, J# h: ?2 j a
- management and supervision skills1 @& c, }! J2 L+ d1 k" q
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
