Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator
. h: q! W( t# bHours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities: j6 h9 d! b% J6 O/ T
- submit information for community news + K! `) r9 a3 x( V
- provide volunteers to update membership database
) g0 {9 _! D6 l6 G- X- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
; M! |5 C, c$ ?7 m3 s: W: V- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties9 ^5 D5 X/ g7 t! _
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
2 _0 G9 }6 \, d+ w9 u- provide volunteers for various programs
% F8 m9 _6 O% Q8 j, x8 a: r- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
$ @. s! U0 a3 E- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
2 C1 W: ^5 _6 `- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities4 y& Q4 G9 N7 u) f3 u
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ H% V$ G" x: R& E- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
9 F$ d; k& }+ u$ A- M- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
# }% ^; `% f: y. |- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
9 g) U; Y% l, h& R- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
- w$ n2 m; d" V; B4 u8 u* u0 m3 Y- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events $ Z0 j( j! u) q! V
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 3 U, F/ i: G' b: P, `. ^
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers g4 _: r. g* u2 r) d- c
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
3 U3 z, j) ^/ l& |; `- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis : W6 Q; x+ I+ M5 z9 a2 O* Z/ J
- evaluations

& Y) c: i/ s5 GQualifications
6 `; }+ W4 M- {6 d- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
. _& l' @! z" J, }- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 \& h! S6 z H: B5 M+ |" K. I* e1 U- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
. c, Y/ d0 l) e; @+ {( J1 E, w- leadership skills
# O5 ]" t/ \, G" t- management and supervision skills! D. L% F' i$ J, h J
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
