Senior Agency/Program Manager

Board

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals/ M3 l; l! }4 d( ], w- h, J
•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board3 p/ V. k# l$ x, H3 h
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation2 i. _+ X+ e' i) O1 Y2 r

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency / U" a0 a* U! I
•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements 9 y$ B6 _1 V- ~! z8 ^
•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures+ g, q( z: e4 E- l' T" H
•        development and management of the programs budget( q8 B( p/ N) _1 j2 z2 D8 `2 l
•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets9 I8 q! h. y' I& d" Q( [

( f& U3 p! M( A/ k$ X•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff
0 y! }& A# m2 [* Y' M; e•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
. @% H1 _# S' P4 V. o- Y•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions/ Y  @1 r7 v' B6 C* ?7 r3 Z7 f1 s3 m4 e
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators& b. i" ?) q* ]8 k* ~
•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth
* R! }1 ]( d/ T* i$ v5 o& p1 G•        meet with staff on regular basis
; z& }1 c: w3 ]7 U•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff7 P- u" i9 |- t4 m/ o6 }

Programs/Services0 m( [: o, ^4 g5 G# ]3 {5 a
•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
0 _" e4 s: e% W1 I! w•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities0 u/ @; d- B8 f7 c
•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
& N: p# O6 G' p& x. r9 k•        set program priorities and directions 9 I$ S( V; b9 ?$ ~! J, c
•        identify community and user needs and trends
# o* D; k' c5 W, P•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends
! N. }* X7 i+ C; E; r9 H•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research( N8 G8 y/ `% ]1 i* m9 f) \
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting0 `( W, z& A+ B9 g; ?0 l: B
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required8 j6 G5 u0 T% @
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development
2 n3 d- W, d% N( {•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others2 q0 o& {7 r: Q6 b

/ w* O. @( H, z- |) C* \0 I- `External Relations- p$ j% m' J, D( U  |
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
) u; e" N3 Z. E( u+ v•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders1 S& E* W- j$ K8 u8 U% U* @
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public' ]9 k( N: m! ?8 v% d& X
•        identify community needs and trends
/ P( e- ?2 `+ N; l% ?•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups% q1 @: ^) X) l: J& k9 x. d
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
9 T$ @) g6 \% i2 P$ R1 `4 U•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.8 K% i# f9 L7 }7 r2 s1 O' U
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff
) A$ }; a( K$ n1 L- v, s. K- Z7 L$ E% g0 ~4 b( }9 t2 X6 w  o- C" `6 `
Qualifications
( N- }0 H# O( D# r3 _, a-        University degree in a related field;
5 _5 J3 r+ t% g: L7 z-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
$ V- j7 ^* J; Z: d) Q+ M-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
: C3 W/ M# o4 Y( k-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
5 Y$ |9 U2 @' r/ C6 A
: A# N9 ?( q8 l, CSalary
! e! n. ?! S0 I1 {* e7 ^. a! h-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
0 P# P, A2 m" W+ l; Q# t/ C" _0 \* f
