Job Description

3 s# D* ?  B' r' ?; w+ \! `: x% }& I9 _•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
3 g! h2 O8 ?( j- E; r  w  Y•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board4 ?: k- V+ x6 N# h* I4 r- B8 N5 N
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency
6 N1 E0 u4 x! ^0 X4 `3 a•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements
# k9 E, @. [# ]& C: N7 p+ H•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures% Q$ @. x+ H1 Z+ D
•        development and management of the programs budget
8 _) {8 o3 S8 t9 O) O+ G•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff
0 J0 f: N' t7 H; b•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
% M$ q( @7 g; R•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions. q, E& _' D: M0 N: m
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
, W% n' g/ u! I; T2 \•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth+ q3 G8 T# b, a' C0 R7 k9 H% K
•        meet with staff on regular basis
1 Z  y; h5 [! D/ c# |•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff7 K' _& Q  D& X, a9 {, ]* m# m1 {" T

' a6 ]  J, a& R! g2 U' x•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
2 z" ?2 ?4 N8 q" W* D3 u1 Y: ^2 K- a•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
' q3 v8 l: d; |% B  a) ]•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
+ r# p. h5 K! l/ `, u% K, i- ~•        set program priorities and directions
  R1 b5 d! l5 h4 m% W•        identify community and user needs and trends6 Z+ [" ~7 v! \( H3 T5 c- s
•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends
3 q6 X6 H: t6 o. ]•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
* S2 D- W0 T; _2 {1 c•        maintenance of appropriate reporting
; L+ X1 t/ \- `" `- Y•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required

•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others* P# b: l. [+ `

8 B! t( K$ Q8 Q/ U: MExternal Relations
" v8 |# i  u7 b: S5 c* _•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities# H8 h6 f6 N+ i; \, }! }
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
( y" N1 l) I3 g& ?/ q$ T•        communicate the value of the organization to the public% c3 A. q6 n! A8 C
•        identify community needs and trends# a9 _# c0 K* N. z: T
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups. q7 g$ i: `' d7 [% \7 B* X' h
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups/ B, D" D, n. b; u  h; V) Z/ k  S
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.$ m1 X  J  e( g, o" f
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff
# q- n' X% x3 \3 u
: L# C% M9 z; Q4 h' ]# SQualifications, e) f. b# x+ v6 D/ X. u9 J( c
-        University degree in a related field; % h: @' O4 z( {
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
6 U2 ~9 p' \9 f2 W5 W-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
, u3 {: N7 ^9 @8 L' f-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
5 T( F' P2 M5 N+ R2 q/ P* z2 `( n' q+ a) w
Salary
0 ~' p: p1 ]* Y- E0 L. |5 D1 q-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
5 p6 F. E7 [4 j$ B6 U, d
