• responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff

• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions. l, E+ u& ]. {
• monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators

• build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

• overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
* F7 v5 u: W( A• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities5 N1 `4 z" G C! \4 J! o
• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders' K) J" a1 ~+ j3 ?; X) M
• set program priorities and directions * M. R; ]% d5 z: R6 g$ R. {
• identify community and user needs and trends
7 i7 H6 L9 T4 V• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends

• maintenance of appropriate reporting

• build on knowledge of community resources in program development+ R( o) \9 D |; J- t) r
• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities3 x6 P$ t6 G1 W& ?7 R- `1 S% T; H
• build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public & funders
, R' |& q$ j6 r• communicate the value of the organization to the public
- z0 b& C9 a, ?+ w" V/ H• identify community needs and trends5 p4 w4 m) J3 i# j0 j& t+ q
• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups2 v- U- s( i! f2 P+ ?$ N
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups: M" ~/ j" m& X" ?7 ?" t0 a
• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.

- K7 y S7 d4 P) x6 E, u* {' C- University degree in a related field; $ q* \- T& Y9 w6 m; z/ X# B
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;% u) u5 S# X. x7 p9 D1 L5 Y" z) S
- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
, l+ P4 A p! A- l# ^$ y- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
" V! @5 j; g3 t' {8 T& Y7 M3 M% f2 C; a' X) U, F
Salary
" }( t& j0 q6 ~& N: j( m- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits ; {" P9 V, Z* J- m# P
