• reports directly to the Board of Directors

• assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions

• provide opportunities for staff development and growth

• build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities

• set program priorities and directions

• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends

• maintenance of appropriate reporting

• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations
! {: f: `0 y+ S. n3 p$ Y* J• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities

• communicate the value of the organization to the public
9 X Q& A3 ]1 `$ V7 e• identify community needs and trends
' K/ x, H8 G3 m# @3 s8 b• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups9 Z& P1 ^. t! ~& X2 D4 H0 e3 A; a
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
3 U5 @; Q# t$ f1 ^• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.* T7 n8 d) _/ p* l$ U3 h
• Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff

- University degree in a related field;
7 V4 w. g# i1 g3 u! [) ?- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;! y) H( R3 P' Q1 a
- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; / }! ]8 G( ]4 ?- ~2 r
- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization / I9 K/ v: c* ]+ S/ {6 |
