• is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals

• responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff7 r0 c8 p7 A0 e$ K

• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions7 x6 V& b" F& f. s0 E# Z% w4 J7 g& F
• monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators

• build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

Programs/Services

• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
3 D7 } N+ S0 h9 ^* B• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders

• identify community and user needs and trends

• conduct program evaluation/survey/research

• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities p- t8 }$ m3 f( s B1 e
• build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public & funders
) m, Y E; z) V• communicate the value of the organization to the public/ E$ c" s' G( x
• identify community needs and trends
; m3 [1 W Q$ L# g/ L• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups8 l7 _( n6 N/ b! O C) s/ i
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
C3 N5 D' |9 x4 }1 X( i) [3 k• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
+ z$ r( B, A( I• Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff+ t' c" u6 v p# S5 L

Qualifications
: N- D: k/ n5 C; `9 a0 e: w- University degree in a related field;
) q2 S$ t8 O6 M& j: T% t- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
% r: \+ r+ S+ I: @5 I) n- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
' p6 f, V: g6 @- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization . a0 M" D! r. }- l3 W& Y3 N/ i4 o* a

Salary8 E- Y4 f" @% _- s2 O
- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
