S4 G' G# d6 {9 oPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community' r* |" j+ i% P
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services& M+ W/ C$ S! Y }5 K/ L& e9 q
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
) v0 H( o% ?4 y6 x6 S- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services7 w8 w- J/ \0 x" t8 Z
- assist in writing proposal for ISP3 `- |; U, G! y, m! A$ p: C& F
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP0 l4 O% X4 V/ y2 A9 z8 N- p
- explore new ideas for ISP 9 J7 Y3 @( p6 @
- hold regular meetings with ISP team
7 \4 z- i) A$ W! {5 Y- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time z y1 G; i4 C4 j! M
- update membership database

8 S( H G3 F: M( \Qualifications
! v, P) `: }1 p- y% R- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
+ n& E* c0 C+ C+ d& H2 ^4 d- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
7 T" Y3 E% q7 y: p& h- B- experience in community work and immigrant services# n$ ^) H3 I1 {- X$ I0 D
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
