Hours of work: 35 hours per week

+ i) j; J) G, H# DPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

# e+ w6 V# @1 N+ H& O" J- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
& N6 q% K: |- a# D1 v& t- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
0 Z- e; u9 y. {* ~ c2 o- `- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
+ d D$ \; \+ S( m6 ]- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
- P0 Z: y4 z, x- coordinate good will activities( X2 l( t. s; C; B2 d' T
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
0 S1 o' E8 D R$ s- submit information for community news . |- ~8 j* g& e3 ?
- prepare and send AGM information to members
, T! C+ s- }, p' s3 A j- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP
O- Q- h! P/ s- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

1 r! \: d6 F5 t- ^ T- hold regular meetings with ISP team
) \$ h8 V$ N, [& q8 m/ W3 B- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time' V3 c/ u* F# Q
- update membership database

Qualifications5 X) a3 G$ [- S& r: M! m( P
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 3 b1 I" c9 o! M0 v% T
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
' a" t" {0 e0 c0 P( \- experience in community work and immigrant services" i: o8 B. A! \0 C" f# f
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
