• 1/2 cup butter

• 1 1/2 cups sifted flour ( if you don’t like the trouble, use all-purpose flour)6 r2 t, Q9 Q# R( j: x
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
6 G3 D: f6 P/ a5 t. D% F! Q6 \! ?' c! R• 4 eggs, well beaten8 T" b, ?0 n0 y+ h
PREPARATION:
& @# {. I! ]+ e" B& M/ sBeat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition. ' N. f* _, `' V" \7 s! V
Turn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. 6 h% U* C: l8 [/ c, v+ l
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered.

I normally strictly follow the amount for each ingredient the recipe calls for, except SUGAR( I prefer to cut it to ¾ or 2/3 of the recipe. It is too sweet for some Chinese. But if you like the sweetness of the Cake Mix you got from super market, you can follow the recipe.
