烤蛋糕

INGREDIENTS:
4 {. m. @, ]* B; X9 r; a- h7 S1 w•        1/2 cup butter 2 L+ H) E8 F* x
•        1 cup sugar
; C. u" z% E" S+ W$ H5 u•        1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract( if you like the flavor)+ a% g# x+ E0 u' U
•        1 1/2 cups sifted  flour ( if you don’t like the trouble, use all-purpose flour)
" H1 ~' m/ \$ S+ n( T1 W" z, r•        1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder + E  D& F' L0 I0 j% S+ V: {1 D
•        4 eggs, well beaten8 G; I( {5 d/ O7 e9 i
PREPARATION:0 @1 c! R9 o4 I2 z
Beat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition. & B* Y9 o" h- m3 O" S" Z! ?+ h2 r
Turn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. 7 f4 h' {% h# n8 C
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered.

My opinion: ( Sorry . I typed in Chinese the first time, but lost it. No patience to type Chinese again—I am lousy in typing Chinese.)

! C* b) o; |9 XI normally strictly follow the amount for each ingredient the recipe calls for, except SUGAR( I prefer to cut it to ¾ or 2/3 of the recipe. It is too sweet for some Chinese. But if you like the sweetness of the Cake Mix you got from super market, you can follow the recipe.8 ^3 p3 C4 f, I3 `

For beating, you can buy a simple Hand Mixer for about $10. It can not only be used for making cakes but also bread, or mashed potatoes(土豆泥)ect.

检查蛋糕是否熟透的办法

牙签,插入蛋糕较厚处,取出,若没粘着什么sticky flour, 就好了。

你若喜欢烤面食的话,一定要有一套量器的。所有recipes 都是用cup, table spoon, tea spoon 做基本单位的。用量不一样,效果绝对不同。
