Description:
) v- Q! m9 w+ \2 s- TThis is a clinic conducted by Badminton Alberta to train people as badminton officials. People who play badminton at a recreational, club, or higher level are ideal candidates for
8 T2 l3 p0 g# bbecoming badminton officials. The clinic consists of two parts. The first part consists of classroom training. This is followed by on-court practice during which trainees will have a chance to put their classroom learning to on-court practice. Trainees will also observe how certified badminton officials officiate matches and learn from them.1 Q# [! M+ j* c5 f$ z" t

Trainees who completed the theory and on-court practice at the training clinic can decide when they are ready to attempt a closed book exam conducted by the Badminton Officials5 b5 P! A- K7 ]8 u& `6 L- Y' U
of Alberta Association. Upon passing the exam, the trainee is eligible to be certified as a badminton official at the regional level and will be given opportunities to work with different% U2 _! B$ f! F9 K9 q) |) L% H) A( x" j
certified badminton officials to practice their officiating skills over a period of time at different badminton events.- c# q' n4 ?2 R7 F% M0 J( F

Certified regional badminton officials can move on to become certified officials at the provincial, national, and international level. |
