Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker
(Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
# D% ]5 U  j5 h-        answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.
& r  N) j4 t6 g-        assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
" X" i+ b$ d, u-        reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

Qualifications:
' F  j4 x- f% \: i; Y1 P- A" D8 N-        post secondary diploma
-        customer service and office clerical experiences
, I) M, Y2 P" R0 k' O. X: T. t-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Position title: Community Development Worker
; e( J# F+ A& ^4 g9 b$ j(Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
- E1 V3 D+ l" P-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
  N' l) U+ t+ p% b1 ]# W$ w-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
4 K% U* d4 Z# S) D3 M-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
; t5 Y: t# X1 E$ X- }2 q2 B9 g-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
0 {+ b7 [3 b" N" d-        assist in writing proposal for ISP
-        write quarterly and final reports for ISP
# {/ Z5 ?+ ~. f! S-        hold regular meetings with ISP team
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
: A3 F6 ]- g1 m7 @. d3 p-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
