Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

(Full time: 35 hours per week)

8 o4 n+ `' g; O6 M/ A2 `-        answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.
-        assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
-        reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

1 l# p6 L# w1 z" t8 Z4 k5 P-        post secondary diploma
-        customer service and office clerical experiences
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Position title: Community Development Worker
(Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
1 _; D5 k3 f; E" Q) L-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
/ O& u! b# v) G-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
0 ?* V" p( X, n8 u) c/ F- l-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
  K& b" Y, \, K$ n6 t-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
( ~1 ]9 y0 I' [2 \-        assist in writing proposal for ISP
-        write quarterly and final reports for ISP
-        hold regular meetings with ISP team
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
# J! R/ w' S; z-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
, {  j1 F; r# k! R7 A& e-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
+ T% R% q- Z! q-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
