Edmonton housing prices slide further

EDMONTON - New house prices in the Edmonton area dropped in March for the third consecutive month, Statistics Canada said today.

7 Q9 [' `( U4 R5 H0 ~/ PContractors' selling prices fell in Edmonton by 1.1 per cent in March 2008 from February 2008.

On a year-over-year basis, Edmonton house prices slowed their pace of growth for the eight consecutive month.

8 f6 ]/ j% }; O8 mGrowth of new house prices throttled back to 13.5 per cent in March 2008 compared with March 2007. The prices are for the Edmonton census metropolitan area, which includes regional communities such as Beaumont and Stony Plain.
