JERUSALEM - Israel is sending disaster relief to China.& P- M ~9 K- _
3 a8 A* S$ B8 l3 V; ]4 tForeign Ministry spokesman Arye Mekel says a plane is on the way to southern China carrying clothing, medical supplies, generators and tents for victims of the May 12 earthquake.

Mekel estimated the shipment was worth US$1.5 million and said it was due to arrive in China later today.$ k! S$ c( c- e" Y& F

According to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, "This is the minimum that the State of Israel can do in order to express the friendship between Israel and the Chinese people."
