* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis3 k. |* ?* J; X
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography% C: X) Z: [) @! }0 H1 W* g4 S z
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
6 u/ I5 V9 q# B% r- a2 ~- \+ d * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client i @/ r& T7 _
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry9 i% c# D U- y' P
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals2 j' o) W0 F- V2 v9 x" h+ @5 C: [
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab8 v' L6 l8 X5 g1 E: c7 i
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices

( l1 M1 u2 H3 V1 N+ u# E * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred/ ^* F0 @ |$ f7 q) x* l t
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)9 [3 w: Z2 W3 U0 ?9 Q
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel" D- M4 p5 y( g3 D" E& }$ R
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
