* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
5 q \0 q+ p' T8 r! q1 L3 J8 A: k5 A * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography1 _9 E9 m1 i% a' ?+ |8 B4 g
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques, A# w J4 c7 E! W
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
" K8 e! z; e4 M" F" W2 h( @ * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
: W& S$ D; w/ K8 W& J * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
# d* ^0 t" @/ ?% A * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
# W4 @3 D9 L. K- U: H * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
/ t6 ]) b1 [) h& ^; A * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)+ `* P! A0 v4 n! c$ K

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred0 K. C1 t2 l, q: _5 p
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)1 K8 }, `* h* B- q2 @: Q
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
