+ d8 F* i G& ^. ^9 ~4 q O* x * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
3 K, y, T0 v' n: L( H/ M1 S$ X. @' _ * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography# K3 ]6 X! I [) Z
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques4 ^7 {' R2 ]$ `7 U
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client" f& V+ U/ H3 N& u3 f- H$ u6 Q
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
& J/ h9 C/ `4 [ * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals. z% u- O4 l# Z4 M" q6 N2 h/ X! J
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
; B5 F0 h* Q" x, l$ _, e * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
" _, y& X) O% r6 c1 P * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications( [' ^6 D! S/ m# `( C* i
6 M- i: `- f0 U+ s7 _5 U * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred( \/ W- M) s! `3 R1 ~! [9 H7 Q" Z
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)5 y# M2 m$ ~# E! b( e- ?. ?% |" B
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel( F5 ?% r- a# e$ |' E+ }
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
