* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis- Z" @! {* m: n) r
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography9 s+ f; z3 d+ \
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
1 |) C$ P, Y/ G) D * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
0 s- p: r. @9 C) G3 Z * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
6 Y2 Y5 F. }% W: n * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals* s* O6 _! F1 i& K: A5 F
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
; }9 j9 g1 Y* M1 W1 f( [- u; j$ \ * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices- P- H) |4 q/ V p: C
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS); I w/ h' w, m" ^$ s) T

Qualifications
5 s- w- p2 R8 ^" s X( O- H7 T5 m; S% U; b
* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred# e) G# p/ }, H: [# [/ A9 g
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)- |$ o. T: w/ K% |" O
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
( ]6 o$ n5 Q' A * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures: Z$ z+ ?, R9 j& ~8 L: I, v" @! b
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
