Position: Project Coordinator - Karibuni Project / Terms: 8 month, .6 fte position September 1, 2008 - June 30, 2008 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $23,344 - $32,544 per year, depending on education & experience + Full benefits and pension plan after 3 months / Hrs: 21 hours per week, flexible schedule / Closing Date: August 1, 2008 / Start Date: September 1, 2008./ j4 v2 `1 r" S" ~2 W

4 ~9 w0 c3 R: K' a5 |Required: Excellent knowledge of intercultural communication, the immigrant experience, and racism in Canada; experience facilitating workshops in these areas / public-speaking; excellent writing & organizational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; degree or diploma in human services field. This project is centered around the existing film entitled Karibuni, a documentary of the Franco-African immigrant experience in western Canada. An English sub-titled version of the film will be ready by Sept. 1. 2 P# w) G, O- | Z2 j4 ~
$ y+ y1 b- {9 M* w& D0 ^' R4 s! WKey Tasks: The coordinator will work with our professional development expert and a French-speaking consultant, to develop and deliver educational sessions in English based on the film, to appropriate groups across the country. % Y3 I) T6 f5 _$ v- X
* \/ d* L7 P3 O8 A: [4 WThis will involve finding appropriate groups for presentations & making travel arrangements. During the project a user-manual for the video will be created, designed, and printed. Position will involve extensive travel across Canada.
