    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
- z& _( C4 n: B$ F* F7 A    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
1 o4 X0 |+ ^% m" o2 |    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
' _) r! Z) c2 M* N  W# Q    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
  W1 B( x4 H7 n( g( @    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
# m4 h4 F/ b' Y% Q3 H; Q' e- S9 I    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
8 r$ v7 u# |5 ]: Z    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
! z# m2 w, O2 T! G* _9 O* H& Q0 L1 A% e    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program9 y2 {: p/ X9 D) I7 i
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment& w+ r9 G6 z' ]4 i5 ^4 _8 p1 z
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports( v+ I3 [1 q1 V3 |4 V4 s9 i6 P
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs8 o4 ]7 d% o9 y/ A
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly) m, s% S  O* C% B) m; k
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
+ V) n* W7 g- B" G3 P; m# D    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications2 y5 v6 U( I! H* `$ }% P

+ W" e; i0 P$ E4 Q" q8 h    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline6 i# Q5 D5 x) m
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ b6 D1 X5 u) r* ?    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies7 T% o2 r$ w1 R/ m
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
; j' b: h; D& B4 t    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
( ~7 a& W/ l# q. w  T3 f    * Fundraising skills an asset5 S2 R8 q0 D- G8 y* K1 M
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
; n6 j" e& e- ]9 f' ]2 n    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills! H# o9 [3 j2 q3 [0 u$ @
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
