    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region# U% G, D  [; b0 Q) ?1 B4 t1 X! ]1 I
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group$ p) @1 f% o0 e
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
# J2 Y  z  L5 x- I( j, U1 i, C) G    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
2 n3 m+ a2 a( n; S0 e" ]    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
; {% c7 V4 z/ w  O9 Q. m& b) a    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses& w$ z0 X4 f+ R$ v" M+ I3 \
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth* ?: J* j, O$ S( |: L
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program* C( _0 @$ Y: b5 [
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
$ m/ Q- l/ q* }    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports) c- g, ^& M2 q; }
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs) R) A) I' u8 S+ h$ k9 J1 p
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly, |5 `, g* N- B' O
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
4 c2 e0 S8 ^, X2 J    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools; [+ K+ N+ H* s  ~

+ S5 w; P' e/ ]' `/ Q. {Qualifications" i3 ^" M  F1 x: Q; `: e: U% w
% ~4 n9 `) w# \' I  s6 r
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
5 B% K. X1 f% I1 M2 b4 }    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
0 {6 E& I  Q) x+ g3 e* q* I' ~, |    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies. A3 M# v5 J# v& Q# L# x
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
7 I8 h0 W  j; J/ v    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
  `2 E8 J% d# u% |8 K/ a  N    * Fundraising skills an asset  h% k2 ^1 s$ G) l5 n
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
* l* t8 n# [" @5 A% N: O( r0 B+ w2 w8 j7 E    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
