    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
# W5 `" y7 s+ y, B, v    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
" m! D# n0 t& {  N    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
+ F+ Q: ], n2 C- q1 K: _& O    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations  {7 C) y& G8 D, J! ~6 M6 L
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director$ [; L' m/ [" u9 l
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
" M$ f) O  M$ }8 W    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth& ~( ]5 }, [8 C* z+ p
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program# ]" C9 l' n' N3 |
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
& [6 Y3 ?; w+ h    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
8 {+ I0 G; [: Q  Z' a    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs5 G2 n6 `, L+ N
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly: N: W0 ~* ~/ J: }& @
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities5 ?$ }7 n& W% D  {  n
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications5 g0 c0 i+ i" ]/ U) E

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
# z; |. i" L3 D" W( w  M* k    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
& F- N4 ^9 Z/ t) N( c    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies8 f; ?. |  O* y' u9 T% B
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs1 K% |$ t6 N! a0 p) d
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

+ K+ J, g+ k) E    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills1 x) b7 v7 ~4 c7 N" J5 V

    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
