Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
) Z2 S+ C& H# @- t) o * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
- U5 s6 a8 p3 i+ _ * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes2 `2 O, ?# {* V3 c; y4 m. T
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat& m. \6 \6 b$ g0 O, h' x& A
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders" F% Q8 R7 W- T& D7 Y" S
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
$ Z u5 U, n! H W' D * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs

* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies2 [. b" x: m/ o

Qualifications# u/ ~/ k( R+ _, X
- i6 x% a* t$ F6 o9 v; D * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred! n2 F3 F8 T, v1 n. \
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
% A0 c; M' t" n B0 h/ x& Y * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
x% s! L: h R' d! o * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies J0 }3 B7 p" @ ?, ~/ F
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills" W S' a- `5 ^5 K
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning

* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
