! u; G \4 h7 ?. U) A5 e * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
$ K7 h3 v6 r& L) Z! N8 g( T * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities- Z- U4 D, F4 n i3 {8 `. r( w5 I
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
+ G$ }+ ?5 a' c# M" b, h% v" H * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
: \% X* z; u% ]: x4 K1 | * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
7 S, D! a. n! d+ Q * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements: {( \0 F. Y% U {) p8 d
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
1 {2 T+ Y9 u6 s9 O- k" W8 s * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director- H9 P3 K' `# Q% X
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning, W$ r4 Y0 S( F, @) `' u
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials$ l* m* t3 [% h9 I5 S
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
$ D2 @8 o5 J- t6 Y N * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results% m" {% r0 G' c4 b/ u" L% ~% v, z
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications

8 n- j7 J2 |6 B& e, o5 S6 G * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred2 J5 ]- O }% I7 t( z; d7 w4 N
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth. t1 o- z3 J1 R1 D
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset( r/ B, k- F/ ^( ^& D
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies) p5 [2 @0 D, p/ a( y2 f( n: T7 |
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills6 U$ Z1 s7 b$ o# p' m
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
: S9 w6 Q! ]& P2 p. v0 k. \ * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)# B [4 u R! x; n
