8 i4 U. y [) T5 E% d2 d- w * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
. o# s8 Z, E, h: @( k! u * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
! G* O& @7 R; \. a * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes2 K* p, ^" {1 S. K0 O% \
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
9 C% R0 I3 ~; f& x * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
" M2 ^: d1 o6 |4 Z+ E3 D * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements

* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director: e( y% h* P. c' J- j
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies6 \2 ^* n- c! G4 X! c6 x

: q0 h* u/ e! P5 n * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
( M) U' `$ D0 A * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
9 c$ c! t& C u" M! U% m( A( Z * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset2 U! p$ _9 f, R5 O
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies% ^2 i3 o: J; A- V
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills, b" _& E0 M7 c5 i, P
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning U! F( L+ d& L$ N5 z
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
