Edmonton police are investigating two killings from early Sunday morning, the city's 20th and 21st homicides of the year.* g! D7 N! \# y( h2 m. x8 }. _

At approximately 2:20 a.m. MT, the EPS responded to a call of shots fired at a silver Infiniti near a Whitemud Drive overpass at 170th Street.

The driver of the car was found dead at the scene.

! @" N; U2 C# ]& n! H- J$ CMeanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.8 E' V* S9 c& N! h
# X( Z ]$ V9 R/ N# l, n9 \At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.2 w: |1 o" e, z# ?7 q9 h

Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.: K- y9 s9 V4 [% [, F9 C

He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

+ h+ B$ ^2 M0 e/ DA police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.
