Payment and collection of health care premiums owed prior to January 1, 2009 will continue under these guidelines:

1. All Albertans are responsible to pay premiums unless they qualify for premium assistance, government-sponsored income support programs, or are senior citizens.
" I9 C8 H. A( o3 B# g 2. Employers and benefit administrators who register and pay premiums on behalf of their employees will continue to do so.: _1 i5 q6 m! B: b) Z: ^3 d
3. Alberta Health and Wellness will continue to pursue collections from those who fail to pay premiums.1 E) J4 M+ l! S3 w9 F( L$ \
4. Contributors to Alberta Blue Cross or other supplementary insurance plans that provide prescription drug, dental, and other extended coverage, will still pay those premiums, as they have not been eliminated.
