A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.' K5 O; U4 m1 q/ B ?
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and! n2 s, b8 C4 s# o% V& p
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.
2 A$ k6 N. H) m4 sThe program includes the following elements:( n5 p6 e# A+ @9 ]% C
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)1 `4 p9 c& v" P% J% d
• Standard Child Care First Aid' E; b1 H& k! B
• WHMIS
5 Q& {0 i9 j3 y+ z4 T• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
* i, M( G( c3 ?/ {& T• Components to improve communication skills5 x$ k2 `, W; m$ }
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search5 }: H9 @, g8 v2 E0 O" M
• Practicum Placements

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen1 a9 ]1 L3 }5 C, a) m
of Canada# D+ y0 {5 k- o) I$ J# R
• have a Social Insurance Number( T% c& {# g. A, p
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check% I1 l/ L; O4 S7 g& C2 _
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
: J/ L, x& e, _9 y! M" e- T• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
