A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions., o6 _6 f6 v& k& T! U$ G4 n
The program includes the following elements:; O/ }) v7 m* _( S7 O
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)9 i+ h1 \6 K0 F$ c
• Standard Child Care First Aid/ |5 E) ^4 K& X% m7 ^% U
• WHMIS
, F+ ]/ A: Q9 K7 l0 B* o6 C• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care

• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

8 {/ k9 o+ t. o5 v" L" R4 Z& D6 }% M; }• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen

• have a Social Insurance Number
. w2 H7 J7 h$ Y5 V+ }: U( J• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check2 q. Z2 ?5 }. u- T, r4 e% v- a, B
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
/ w3 p5 w% h8 \: P" Z• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time l) H( p$ |$ ]2 Q H

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet) y- z# ?9 C, D7 C/ C0 S6 O! B* |
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:7 S" }1 u- v7 F1 C# C6 n$ ^* r2 O$ m
• be unemployed or underemployed.
+ W+ e! E1 y1 y% @2 rThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
! J5 O2 H2 t" d- ~: ]• meet the financial eligibility criteria
