A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

The program includes the following elements:
7 p8 z# d2 \4 _• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
# V" v, U: @$ x7 q8 s• Standard Child Care First Aid
( f# q" @3 o8 u. r$ Q• WHMIS3 e' u/ N) I: Y0 F' R: a& V
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
5 y7 q. m! ?( ^3 i+ W• Components to improve communication skills5 |7 P6 q- @0 n+ D" k* d0 P
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria
7 {2 J8 E3 F: `! h/ \• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen/ ]0 F! ~7 v& R& u2 x) e8 f
of Canada
2 V8 ~8 Q) K3 W* }6 H; ~; I% }( l• have a Social Insurance Number
. }# ?- L( O/ a: Z• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check* A+ U0 ]3 n( Y
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
) n! Q4 d' R4 q- U; R* u• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time. S7 ]+ x2 U* b5 E# u# I' |

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet [% Q/ N7 @: n# z3 O
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
w+ g7 [+ c- ?. o" D• be unemployed or underemployed.
: x- o: c* J+ O9 pThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course% c/ L% I5 k- s% k+ S+ }
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
