Position: Manager, Counselling Centre / Terms: full time position reporting to E.D. / Salary: based on education & experience / Closing Date: 04.10.09.

( @3 k. c4 U, q* N# H+ o8 f1 K. ~Responsibilities - Human Resources Management: supervise a qualified counselling team/oversee their peer supervision system; manage hiring, training & supervision of department staff, volunteers & student interns; provide training opportunities to department staff; supervise/evaluation department staff.

PLUS: ensure adequate levels of staffing are maintained, in order to meet requirements for delivery of services; conduct regular staff meetings; ensure proper flow and documentation of information; ensure Human Resources Policies & Procedures are met and followed.: m  G& ?# K* k+ u% V7 q+ X

Responsibilities - Finance & Administration: develop and implement annual goals and program objectives; monitor annual department budgets; review monthly financial statement and account for variances; prepare annual applications and budget proposals for funders in collaboration with the Fund Development Manager; ensure program standards and procedures reflect the YWCA's and funders' requirements.

I" g5 w5 |/ c1 s5 a% QPLUS: submit monthly, semi-annual/annual reports to funders, as required; ensure proper & complete documentation is maintained for all clients, staff and program files; prepare a monthly departmental report for the E.D.; generate and manage a feedback system/databases to obtain data on client service.

* l1 ^+ C- `) H: E' u, {Community Relations and Advocacy: create and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders; promote the Counselling Centre's programs and services.

# K4 k: C! h) ~6 R4 iQualifications: at least 5 years successful experience at a senior management level with a nonprofit agency; post-secondary education in Psychology or a related field; extensive knowledge of the counselling process; must have a working knowledge of the legal issues involved in counselling, especially those relating to the area of family violence. & |! I7 Q5 t& D6 l' ?# {

In addition: excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experienced in budgeting, program delivery, and supervising staff; ability to interact in a positive manner with a diverse population; experience and proficiency in MS Office; equivalences will be considered.( r3 a5 x& D- j' ~
