Duties
& F8 b; {4 q4 W- W/ C& S9 {# j
3 ~4 q* [: z% X, a9 A; g * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
2 \! y4 O- {+ l- ?8 Y! R * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
- _$ I1 ^+ A3 G& C2 @; r" l * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance5 W; X' ?4 T* n% k
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
8 z4 n% W6 Y1 ?# D' R * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
