* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
4 @% D( h! r- Q * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
6 {2 Y3 j# I8 ] * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
4 \& |$ A' x# w3 g' T9 ?. `! J; b * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
: _) j9 l9 g: h2 K, a: f * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
