* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications3 v- o! |& B# E* E- Z; B: p# t+ z
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
2 D; q+ \; i a4 y1 L# G * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
# L5 w: R2 C; ] * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 8 w- F- s, d/ T
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies$ m) E2 x2 ?, v# x- Z& P
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
* m2 W1 m: P1 ?% _8 L7 F/ L * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment! p/ J" _( ~" }& {) F
