1 F3 X, z+ d4 g9 j+ A3 m * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications! @! B& i8 B, m M! A
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis) L; K4 F# a6 f4 A
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance# w( r' I- n$ _9 L
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
; Q- c" G. M$ R+ F; C * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies8 I H" r& m# l7 ?
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs% J1 t( s5 Z1 ]- x, o( d% M
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
