* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
1 v6 e# U7 C& K, S% A2 x! U; v * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis1 P( z, o! z9 R' B8 Y
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
7 @1 X# i+ _1 w4 J: S * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students

W5 V * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies* {: @% U& K8 ~
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs0 \$ _2 \" j- K7 A, m
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
