On May 1, 2002 it became mandatory in Alberta for all children under the age of
5 ?* S! \! t" K) y5 ^18 to wear approved bicycle helmets when cycling.

. h( Q  O6 E) p4 y3 K1 BWe are aware that enforcement agencies will be conducting helmet checks this
summer. The fine is $69.00, which is substantially higher than the cost of a
helmet.
