動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.
' j+ c% T/ Z1 w* p我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。

. l& B$ ~% c) vThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

% N0 e1 S# Y0 M5 U* I7 q5 |這男孩不過5、6歲。: c7 ^# O2 ?/ U, r2 n# L" h

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '" F% Y$ Z" G9 |, ^% E) @
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』6 d- D: U+ q/ P& B1 x; S
" B/ Q# R" B, C+ J* }! K
Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,/ W. I) {, \0 m: P" p* d' K, g( {
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

9 s) o# X( z' pThe old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
- d% \* ?) [) [# k: H老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」

2 e0 i9 F" E1 s0 FThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.- c9 M+ k% R: x+ I) w

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

'It ' s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. ': E0 E+ G/ M! v# F- R

8 A* b% C: Q' n& N% E" PHis eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '

My heart nearly stopped.

3 U) F2 \7 {* G' ~1 ~+ ~3 r' IThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '* T6 J+ O+ g9 o7 F
小男孩看我說:『我叫爸爸告訴媽媽現在不要走,讓她等我從購物中心回來。』

' X1 S9 \( g0 r/ @( }: iThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.# I2 e% E" d4 V1 X9 M. Z

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
4 q$ I7 u! r% W1 l( R『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。* Q/ o) h6 @" |- J$ e( [

$ m) j, f2 ~& c$ @3 m' R5 KThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

- i9 d2 @2 c% P+ w: d- }) @0 aThen he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

3 n' ?% i. Y) n) h3 G' D'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '  b2 h, ^1 I3 f2 K1 Y

) Y: `& @& a3 E『我也想有足夠的錢買一朵白玫瑰給我媽媽,但我不敢要求上帝太多。但祂給的錢足 買娃娃和一朵白玫瑰了。』

. A1 A8 e' ?% `A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

woman and a little girl." d) S' G9 {* S1 i2 \
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。5 I) g0 ?* d& t2 i! s
* L8 g4 Q" k' `# H" h' i0 B
The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
. U5 [; W3 `1 F5 @; F# ?( y, }state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
- ^+ r" U, Y7 O/ F( nlife-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
! q" O3 Q) Z$ }0 S小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管" l1 X  n2 ]; A' ^

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.7 \9 ]( D, ^* e
碰到小男孩的二天之後,我看了報紙年輕少婦過世了。! Q, g7 x8 g$ t7 ?3 ^4 R! ]- d4 j& w" K

$ s/ A. i3 F" Q! z  iI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
, j8 E6 N+ q, C5 |我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

1 o8 T0 J( K# E, eI left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is
/ X: Y; l# r1 S1 i& Z6 v! B# vstill, to this day, hard to imagine.4 n9 `0 q" Y# q4 V& B3 I3 m
我離開了這裡,眼淚奪眶而出,覺得我的人生已經永遠改變了。至今,小男孩對他母親和妹妹的愛,仍然難以想像。

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
