動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.
3 U8 W. z/ {6 t; V# n) Z我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。

" ~7 ?3 L- }! c! \! gThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.
, }0 ]  `! X+ R9 x0 V" l6 w% p4 ? & t: o2 n. w* \& Y# g# w
這男孩不過5、6歲。. h( }0 A1 }% W. _8 M9 z# b
: D+ d: x5 r$ N, A2 }3 C6 O' b

6 @( e. i3 ]$ w& k, n8 hThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. ': j. K$ H- M! T; w
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

4 A& Z+ e. }! r. ^) f. pThen the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,% F6 p, @0 e: b: _/ F
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '5 h! @* ?: Y3 h% y) _! B4 l

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
& Y0 _8 d9 W! o1 x老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」

& f7 `, y! g( G4 s' G% D- m) r' \" E- C/ ?% i6 l
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '4 w2 o- D! P8 M

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.  U4 ]: S- g4 K( [/ V1 L+ J
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

& Y! a8 g7 ^& Y1 x1 TThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '! r, v+ _* [1 s: w

& k3 ^3 t) K' {- G7 kThen he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.( C. t' x& B' i6 S( `! C

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
+ @% ]) a0 B: ?1 m. gwoman and a little girl.' L6 d# H) ?. o+ q# Q
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。

: `% S! i7 X  |! [$ PThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical5 ?- X9 F, C4 R
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the7 j& I- C; M7 @2 l+ Y) T1 O6 v7 s
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.7 j: J3 a. }: h% ~3 F$ {- n
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管  A+ v" B" U1 O9 ~: W( n, x; f: Z

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.+ P( s& b% [3 L8 e' F, N, ^; B
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。
/ u$ x" Y) h% z& i3 g. z6 ^( k6 P1 @/ q
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest./ @3 E5 L  u; s( \

7 a0 r8 c/ F* Z9 o! Z* yI left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is$ g5 [% H* T. n2 t+ m; t
still, to this day, hard to imagine.
! Z& ~( g# g5 s- X  C我離開了這裡,眼淚奪眶而出,覺得我的人生已經永遠改變了。至今,小男孩對他母親和妹妹的愛,仍然難以想像。
