) P: w( \$ i( dBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. / Y/ X3 C: A' `1 v- y

Key Responsibilities Include
5 m9 B2 {& t. }4 iActivity Planning and Daily Activity
3 y# H- Z/ i2 `- G/ w• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.2 a+ ~) ?0 v0 q) R% M' s3 a
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ' s2 I( X: l1 ^' n/ u9 z
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
0 v: }3 y+ \* O4 A0 M% l7 B6 g• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.+ D# U* n' N! M7 n. Z; n
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
6 n# X2 ]( F# R" j; W• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting+ m# e3 m- S* n9 S& Y' P
• Experience with children
; W7 L, \0 E% J* T+ B' b• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth , w% A# g" i; r/ f
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.7 m% H0 V' H1 d2 R, |" y
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.; r' q. f. Y# W6 Y8 C# d2 u+ n9 M. ^1 z
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
) E1 P5 _$ v. L# z* L9 B0 d$ o• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
