Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
. X* J  ?3 |/ t+ o' g7 W# \(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

) `! z( ~9 Y: |& R% b( v( YKey Responsibilities Include
+ I0 m9 G! ^, P* K( B3 d0 q, h) R4 D3 [Activity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
) L# P4 d* u6 Y4 X- M* V4 f•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
  ?5 h+ M/ C2 w) F# K4 G+ P•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
4 E9 ~; g5 ^) v5 W+ H" f5 u6 p•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
6 X& o0 }7 M9 _: x8 g# B; |•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
1 ^. ~7 G  Q  l5 d, v•        Experience with children
/ B- V6 q" H& f# ^1 }•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
6 W" K8 u5 L5 K% i; t4 g) d2 W•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
8 N; S4 o* Y* E$ X& g+ M•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
7 X! n3 s% }2 }. e/ _/ F+ d$ K2 G•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
