4 Q; P& @1 ?2 P2 z0 LBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Activity Planning and Daily Activity
$ v( W3 A+ d8 l0 l- K' J• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
9 |; a$ }4 J/ h2 D( X) r$ r• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ; p& @6 S3 j8 C7 _& @- [
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, + V: ?- Q- U8 f8 Z( h Z
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
q4 G! @- J7 U• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
3 g% y, U$ @2 U: U% _• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.4 H) v+ [4 @" y% U
: J% ^ s6 ^6 z$ nThe successful candidate will have:+ Y* }9 Z# M' e: c7 I8 m: X P' W
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting1 N/ O2 W2 ]9 b$ b& `. w3 Y
• Experience with children
, K' u1 T7 R4 n) A• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 4 Q% J5 i7 n5 `, [# X* |- J- \/ a* n( H
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
. G. `" B {. P9 {1 F- ^• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.! e9 U: n6 e$ V( ?0 U
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
( V& q8 i8 X' p4 I$ @- ~5 H" }• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
% x$ s$ `. v0 d$ Q3 j• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check $ a6 h% z. ~- Q( X+ T
