Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:5 \0 E/ t& a% l
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
9 _0 K0 [1 L4 d) u+ m7 B' R• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
- z# _ x n+ y9 x• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
' h5 O- Y# G. K) i• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
! I! c! m4 U+ U• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.( G" ^, h* V9 `7 d I
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
; G$ V3 p( k6 p• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:4 k6 g9 A. b, K0 l k
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting: ?" V7 [2 `; u, P; j8 f
• Experience with children" q8 _2 Y* j2 @7 R! k# a& p. y! ~
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth : u t n0 ?2 O& i, D: V. m8 a+ q, |
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.6 V P0 ?0 B' l7 u6 S) ^
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.$ s$ o. ~+ d3 T. L
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources' F* h% O; N; ~
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
