Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. 1 z5 p% ` H6 i7 h. m8 ]

0 G. t" R4 I: A- ZKey Responsibilities Include:$ [: `) a( K1 @& ^0 c5 M
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
: e& y2 |, Q9 j: q• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.% F& }( M# K w9 r6 I: g1 B: f9 k
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 0 s! ~5 X5 w% O# M0 a
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, , n1 t- Y" [7 v. B3 j
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
# ^! {/ l* S2 Y3 \1 w0 g8 k• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.$ x7 h% n% x% ]
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.. i0 N$ O9 _! y n2 e; g T8 v
$ E2 W, z' }; [The successful candidate will have:% c' F. |) l* c
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting( ~% |! F# q6 y( ]3 I3 R2 M
• Experience with children: N* t; x6 C2 U& }( T& H
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
4 K6 O% V S8 E. E• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.+ |1 ^: t" n: ^3 }5 ~" i1 o: s0 M
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.! C: o0 s) z) g; P" W
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources+ s1 N. @& u9 u' O' S* H! I# R
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
5 U" B1 |$ h- d. a( R& X3 u• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 8 _" u Z8 _, J4 \

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
