Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. : m3 E( C- [& W: g1 U% z% P

& G( H, B0 Y6 O1 m0 tKey Responsibilities Include:
* ]# A; M4 W- X5 t) X* UActivity Planning and Daily Activity
$ Y* y# S; S9 ]+ n• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.+ c( V9 I4 I7 x
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
% X4 s/ P5 n5 h9 P• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
5 D$ ^! v" @# O( [+ Y. t• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.* s: `8 j! Z y5 O0 r' U
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.1 ]! f9 k+ s0 [7 a ]& k Y- V: N
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.. {- Q5 Q/ p! n9 e- H8 E' t& [
- d+ M" v! E! \8 G! ~The successful candidate will have:
/ F: N e# J6 b# }! Q+ `. t• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
( o8 B0 |& A! `$ P9 i$ C9 P% J+ \: I• Experience with children2 d3 N+ Q2 v( ^ k) D
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ! g4 O+ f5 J1 j+ J" _- l, E( u
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
# R) c7 k0 S$ P% d4 e. m• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
5 z4 m* S- V9 V# K6 F+ C• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
" @1 A! V% d& c& K- i• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
! J2 L9 T3 J A• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check : o+ j, s2 m$ L6 z t& ]
