Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:
: ~( v7 ]. p$ h3 I* w% J: M! \$ X# tActivity Planning and Daily Activity
' h+ t" r+ r. Q# _# N• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
* @7 j4 m5 ?9 {$ B3 d& r$ u9 X, \• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. $ }. |$ Q0 H, z5 y; r8 a( x' r
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
! r, G. R$ V6 x# w9 v, n• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
8 M0 c8 a$ [# ]* d [• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
" w0 X2 a' t" g* h+ s• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
3 t G% C9 P2 F6 [* J# d. {9 P. T% s• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
* |! ?0 n u* \% ]* ^. f• Experience with children
' w. X5 P9 ?' @1 V5 F0 i• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
( i3 g; {" k* [$ K% H: ]• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.( l6 l0 \0 G' Z' _! J5 O: E+ t
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.1 h5 b! _6 |; Z
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
$ ^! B' W* k1 [• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
# K: p9 h4 E% d% i) o( f• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 3 T; ^ @( d8 \. \1 D
