Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. + M/ x y. c( p$ s7 @7 W

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff # C, P5 W3 M* I2 X- P5 r; R% j
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

) v: v. F3 o' x7 E8 F" RKey Responsibilities Include:
# u& B, M+ `" n* z0 VActivity Planning and Daily Activity) }( x% H/ C/ y
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
% k: {& c8 X0 ^' o2 w( n. A) V& @0 R• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 5 |. P- w6 B1 C! j* O- f
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 0 O! _- [. d5 [0 Q6 d4 c) [6 o
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
. }0 b1 y7 j* K' s: q6 |! W5 @• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
) n4 d8 l* S6 |7 z. M• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
' J# a0 w9 k; S3 v# x1 \• Experience with children
) O: X% x/ f2 d5 e• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth & W- w# x4 @; h. S/ h
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
3 V7 D1 H* a4 m4 x1 E• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
0 Q$ ]. h3 p' q0 F* Q( f9 M• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
9 m6 ~. _7 O# x• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
@ q% V4 ~+ w- _1 v4 T• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
