Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)& G7 l! b: X, a2 w1 q
( Q* {3 q/ o- n; g+ X0 |% I, n) J4 U5 FKey Responsibilities Include:/ s- L* p0 `. K4 ~- u9 }! z0 k+ G
Activity Planning and Daily Activity, I6 L+ s$ H4 x9 `7 L- F
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.( w5 D* r9 ^1 A1 _
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
4 }$ c/ Q& v, A0 w# |• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
) k7 t: {0 q- M8 k$ U* T! X• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.: Z4 F( _; Q- y
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
8 r* i+ C4 G4 L4 [3 L! z• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
' D8 Q" c1 p& o$ M6 J• Experience with children& f; v3 A* G* g) h: j8 y) V
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 2 M4 ]8 w' N# \, e& C
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
5 P# G N a& Z) g3 D• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.- r) m) {! s- F7 \
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
- A! X' w# a' L- O) M, Q' O• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 5 S& q# X7 c0 B/ `8 b& s) D
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
