$ n( l' s; e5 I$ E& P, K6 G6 g * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory7 @+ }9 J4 |% Y" C8 D
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
' R% w! X6 c; ~$ A! \' m * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
' b% E5 g' _; d * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
B5 J. _/ Q4 {* n * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

Qualifications& j; a6 ]0 y3 S' T: S1 P
3 m- ?$ a9 O8 B/ D; h
* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
' h4 Z( d0 P8 K1 X* w4 l * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation3 l: M( a3 b. m# L2 Y
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers
" Q/ H* M+ f' Z' f! n8 x% k * WHMIS training
7 ^- e2 p; c/ h6 s * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
