Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ! K* h% n" h1 `: p; i
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee . V- Z1 `/ C* S1 b- x4 u+ ]
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 5 L U, ]- e' c7 [1 b
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
9 D/ l1 n w; Z/ B3 eadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
1 @0 n) m! y/ wset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee ' O& m/ A% {* L* ^

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
: c& w, V: Q! ~ ` a; E/ Y, g7 oAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 8 }. e( j- J2 v* Y2 L% M& w) L% Q
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
0 K" {$ \& m# ~, c# Q4 C2 o+ R· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
y9 ?- h! ?* N" h9 I· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 9 I8 w8 R4 s6 N, ^+ D; g& Z# j
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ; J5 C. F6 p' [3 m( A Z. |9 i
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

· Completion of 12th8 E5 i4 m1 [% ?# k
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
3 w4 K4 {& r4 |3 x+ v, U1 DAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
; J, n; p1 V- }5 d· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
: \2 r* K. m# Cexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
8 {3 k8 X! H+ z: ]2 H· Experience working with and managing volunteers # _% k ?5 T9 J l6 d. O( J$ ^9 T
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors + T! R5 b: F; k: p3 D; r
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events % S6 l: g8 h" N9 v; A
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ( j, t6 J; t* Q% }, |
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work ) F I3 X7 ^' v/ O0 @( h

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
