Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
$ |$ c8 S, m% F6 {6 eEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: + ~7 O& N6 [2 \5 e0 b6 b4 t
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ' l$ W9 {# a# q; H8 A6 Q' f. {
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 4 Z, m2 r2 S2 g: D! w; T
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
2 U& o5 s- ~# S5 i2 U# O. p9 ]advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 6 k0 K+ m# g3 h; E. W4 L
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 9 d/ \7 t% g! I
· Attend and manage Special Events ' }% ]) ^. a& d/ @! P5 U
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 8 |% M2 s4 g/ `" h' l# l
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: $ K2 p3 W- P% X8 l4 B Q' M
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
3 [0 m6 P x! l* i2 u6 h: e· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 9 d1 q e* w1 P
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
) i7 c8 k/ R6 j1 S* k4 i, L9 f2 c, O& D· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
! r Q/ w9 X" w1 z" L* b: v0 n· Complete program administration, statistics and records

3 _; k F0 D& i7 G. k) L9 O; t3 |Qualifications: 7 W; \3 Y6 A; D5 Z6 p
· Completion of 12th
& o- ]8 F/ g- T- }2 I" ?4 q1 \) P Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 8 F. o0 k/ f }% B' o
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
% i) a% n Y, F· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
. F) }6 ]- h0 K$ j0 P& i7 Z' Cexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
0 V% J/ F( G$ y· Experience working with and managing volunteers
7 S5 \" C! z4 s# r$ Y# @0 i· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
6 K7 T/ P5 O( A; r* c8 H5 ~5 }$ W· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
$ r8 \2 m7 b3 @9 G4 z6 b· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training , B# ~" x9 [' J" ?# f

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
