Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: : N& L+ V4 Z" `/ J9 n9 C$ f4 H$ C' J/ ~
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee + E1 m% h9 I) i% ^/ R
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist / f) g8 f1 I+ u
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 9 d! g. m/ R+ j
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 0 e; Z1 d# Q9 m" ~; a
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
: W& _2 C/ a: eAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
2 n8 f7 d( x& b· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions ( d8 T2 t1 V6 |8 w# e O, c+ Z x
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 0 q# N: E$ F% g j
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 3 p M' c* J. x: U$ o" H2 T3 E6 V
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers $ n' F# z2 }6 i4 z/ U* Q& T
· Complete program administration, statistics and records 5 z- S7 y: I3 W& I
0 K( e: _* a% F5 XQualifications: - Y; B% x' o9 U1 E4 c
· Completion of 12th' A4 s% I& J! ]) w( W* L3 s
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
" U* C7 P$ L5 O+ E% lAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
/ l7 v1 p2 C' K0 }9 S2 W· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
0 i3 P- Y. i' U8 e4 ^6 texperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
* V0 |& w' O! R8 y· Experience working with and managing volunteers
2 j. o2 t n. d& \3 \' q+ Z· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 9 }& R. F, y. H; B
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ' X( ?' J( ?! a4 b
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training - V5 e% ?9 D" ?; O
· Security Clearance

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
