Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Duties: Special Events
( [4 f: C3 x. c6 e( L: NPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
+ l+ ~$ Q6 V' Y8 H( o· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
- W- _" N+ \ r. F; l· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 8 q8 Y# O) X2 f* H. h2 I T7 k2 X( ? h
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 4 d% o8 x! V3 a3 H. ^! g
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure . B4 f. n4 w; G0 }3 C" X
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 2 ]- m' q' x8 y8 T
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
' n8 c/ \6 W0 g: Q5 _$ EAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ( n# w1 Q! U# M2 K: g& X0 i! _
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions " N4 B0 Q0 j6 Y; W$ [
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
! s* H! }8 g k* |3 e& g( q· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ; H' J; [8 g$ P4 f6 j {. }2 ~1 {& s
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

Qualifications:
( Y5 T1 b/ m5 O6 Q" s5 ^ L· Completion of 12th
- R7 P; B/ b2 {! C5 K- |* o Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation - _4 _) {1 Q- d+ ~* f$ {1 }
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. $ H( V T0 d7 j/ ]# d' Z' d8 ?
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
: ^0 S1 q0 f3 l) Lexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
4 G2 x+ ]- |7 c* u4 Z1 P( Q· Experience working with and managing volunteers
5 c2 ?2 v* \. ]9 ]7 c; q6 `" @· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors * i. q8 ~1 p7 A' ~6 t: t, r5 A
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events , L8 W1 ]( X" c/ e2 t
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 9 A( G' j0 v9 [6 L
· Security Clearance
