Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 6 g+ Y* c5 r3 F6 Y# h) a

Duties: Special Events 8 s( o( Q) x# A9 V5 W6 c2 Z( ?7 v
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
, _# Z' H/ q2 `5 A/ b· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 6 u% d5 R: H8 @; g) f
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 9 z: @- e# l. M7 I( S8 O
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
! x$ Q; w6 ~/ y: i& ~advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 4 ^8 `: D7 l6 {
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

6 Z$ ~* }2 j0 n) L4 v( xAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:

· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
' m; k( L$ @- j- F5 _9 ^, T) g g· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers $ P$ ?1 S/ F! x Q/ t0 R8 W
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 2 S" k g: Y7 F4 v
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

; J$ q0 P. H% KQualifications:
8 T/ M2 r+ {% Y. F· Completion of 12th
& E, i3 P! ~5 A% H Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation & q! m9 N7 {7 P6 k$ i- f
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
$ K) g0 R( a9 k! P· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 2 N0 k: U, J/ M* C8 J* R' R
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events " P; {7 X0 O7 ?# Q" \- b7 S
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
4 b6 j" u* X8 z, r/ m, z- e, y· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
0 V& P/ ?2 h- A4 A" K· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events $ D1 L4 k% Y; B+ D
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training / L) Z k4 \" ~3 e, W/ A
· Security Clearance

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications ; N) P; o- J' Z3 m7 _. k8 B5 X
