/ w: a) s3 V% Y% K' y3 u BUnder the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
% O# v$ K3 Y0 f4 x3 Y- D9 AEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

$ s% `( L5 x# x% fPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: / F) i1 r8 D" H5 @; z
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 3 t4 L# S# t; U% S! F# @1 u- y, a9 w
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist , Z2 ?# m3 ~8 | F% r/ z6 E& ?
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
& A* f! K# L, a: _4 J4 d Tadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 1 J, g+ J8 I$ D% `/ T/ b, ?
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.
! ?+ I8 e* T1 `6 C2 e2 `; o! b· Attend and manage Special Events , n2 k! x: {$ N/ w$ j
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee $ N; v1 e$ d0 g$ P

Duties: Volunteer Coordination % F( U) s8 {# b9 Y4 c
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ) V* `: G2 c k6 M- i
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
- Y6 S8 F; w, }& y- h8 I· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers : L$ c2 M5 ~7 _; _. O8 ^8 H( L
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
3 Q2 ^' V Y, v) z% l# E' A! U· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers , \& l& C, T- }' s+ w" {
· Complete program administration, statistics and records & {$ [* C+ y. H1 p" B" ]* C

Qualifications: ( ^+ u* Y& _# {3 ?# c
· Completion of 12th! R9 B. p' m4 g% W6 @8 p& b
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation / g$ f5 w; w# }/ ~
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ! [, Y* e" _6 v7 a
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct % f) i, R! s3 V8 G! P5 j
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
0 V, v# i" a5 }2 y6 G3 K8 ?1 P· Experience working with and managing volunteers : o4 G* r4 }4 \) E& c# Z, n$ H
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors " T! ~" @. a% c/ r2 D
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events , W$ R: Q/ T$ z
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
