Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.2 j. z" c8 s) ~% u1 G, a# i6 l

J% W2 v& Q- PCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.4 b# ]" [( F) E: n/ h' t; I( V: U8 D

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.5 H( G y/ v; p- [5 V) F

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.6 ~0 X" N8 O+ v" S

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.- @8 i$ Y' ? u
- ~2 s, ]/ h7 A% U" V2 F9 g& H3 a• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.1 A3 r/ V+ O7 f- P: M

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions5 U3 n8 |( N& U7 q( m6 b; I
; p$ A' ]+ e# A' B' F8 A• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.5 G* V: I& z9 }

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

! y5 ]/ C3 B1 I0 B# gSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
