Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

9 ^; i; @6 E; P& J! f SCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.- Y$ E* m! R9 `* _ B3 w' q

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.# \; M8 p2 `' D5 \* @% }* k% ?. G

• Complete data entry in various programs.

3 ~, K: y1 t9 n• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.. j1 f* |' r4 @% R
u) F! K _ Z8 c; \• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups./ v) M' [4 z# d3 R" u E

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.5 Q! Q; G" H! P: B# t. F; R% I

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.' M* i( C6 Y! ]! `* v

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.7 ]7 a( i, }5 g

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

' R \; n* U" I1 z$ p8 c4 f• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.5 Q7 u8 o; n5 ^2 i3 J# `
) x$ J0 j0 h, M0 l$ u& Y; H• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.! x2 n. X/ L; p8 u! l1 H3 Q0 c

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

! U6 K; l+ Y, VSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
