Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

( q: g5 W! P5 W0 T• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

  P! M8 V$ s& Y! L  W• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups./ ?2 |( O+ R% {) O$ M

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.2 P- A7 s4 u7 e3 ^; e: [6 x

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.( K! v2 U+ D( e& J& X. B2 ]1 w5 o

' ~6 D" q) {5 }: Y5 u• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.* w+ K; }) h  C

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions* [$ g8 Q# _2 d' L% [

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.) o$ Z8 E& v" i% ^" I

' l- m6 l) K( G• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.  Y( e+ ~& F  W: }

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.  U, b: [6 g& v, n0 F6 u

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.' q0 M; q& T3 {& r- D  N) N
