CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.4 c7 L% W/ ~# f4 p

• Complete data entry in various programs.# R4 d/ A; h9 O
) {; Z3 L* y3 C7 r5 p" s6 i• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.: t/ b* ~, V- w/ p( g+ A! a& Q* L

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

0 f \$ b$ Y- |• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

6 G; ^; F- @( h _• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions1 ?* f5 C* a7 C

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.7 H; k3 }+ `: M+ c; P/ u7 ]

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.3 P6 S. @0 o0 N3 q

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

- Z; N; t+ `7 e9 \* j ASkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.7 ~5 [% m$ B% E1 q7 f4 l
' Q; W1 s, n$ h7 OSpanish language abilities are an asset.
