I! \: c& C# ~Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.$ F  H5 O% q3 N2 J

8 \( z5 Z8 L1 I# Q: RCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.8 t0 Q' d. ~/ e) a+ Z( d# {

• Complete data entry in various programs.

- d" o" _, ~/ Y7 [3 Z• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.  K2 E% e- I7 B& P! [9 n

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.5 D! W7 D- C% g) e# b4 j

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.& a: m% U$ O' y9 b9 A0 b% j9 b

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.6 ^8 \: P5 g3 Y! ]7 P

) |2 v& [( ^5 C3 \• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.  g5 y! T% q7 A' C

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

% F0 M' A# K* }2 y2 \• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

/ v- r  U) Y8 u3 B! u$ m• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport." `5 u  P9 S# o, `/ S, Z+ x4 g

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions
+ Y! |5 u: _' ^/ I/ ?/ h% ?% w) P7 \. i& Q/ o' U" o
• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

% a8 d& W$ Y# @) D7 O' V  L• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

1 K2 `8 N  X" M; V  X4 ]; aSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Term:

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.
