CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public." H2 p1 j( j4 H9 _

, o! x: K: P/ }8 m% S9 Q• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

0 `2 S- r4 k7 @& j• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.  M! i6 d* Y: a+ D2 `

4 ?# z7 w) S% A/ E• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.& i! d: W- E# O9 J8 `/ k

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

Key program support duties
& O% `2 R  g7 K( r, z' h; }; q  u/ H6 I$ ^8 P6 M; N+ p! K
International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

2 v) `4 `5 m5 g( @• Maintain inventory of communication materials.
% G% M3 d  C" y' M
0 m& l3 {4 l. _2 d% G! T- K• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.4 d' K9 Z. R& Q% N& ~4 a

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.5 q* B3 p. h  u2 d* V8 S6 K

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.0 U4 K# e" ]# q  v& s4 S

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events." J6 E6 m8 o( b3 M1 a8 Z( U

( j# R$ U: W4 @4 H! k0 E, L• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.) v! x  M! Q2 q; k

( [4 s& \( X! D& `+ g• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.  G$ g2 ^9 a- n' _! F3 ], g4 Q0 H

* @5 @: J# r5 r& T: L. S0 _+ J• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions/ p# W. D& D2 c3 i6 L

4 M3 `. k- z+ ^6 e3 q' z• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

1 P( o$ d+ N0 }9 O- r( [• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

, H, w* Q+ B9 R# E* T8 q  A• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.2 s4 L. ?) j. e/ J/ I5 l

+ K7 q" g4 Q  v4 x; W1 f: ASkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.
