Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.0 Q7 w7 [( A5 o0 ]# `& ^# q

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

: E3 i; d5 l' j+ j& ~• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.! G/ Q8 T4 q( r$ K. a! V2 R# f

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.: `0 O% y4 C9 o# G& y  Z

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.( w% ]+ Y% E! H3 i& {4 J! r$ x( z$ B1 R

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

/ m9 @& P/ ?3 h" E• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

! g; Z7 U( j2 }0 Q• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

! s4 \% n/ W) q5 w& p1 @9 i7 I2 J3 z. C• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

, W2 K0 X3 z; ]- @( d• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

' a) X) d$ l% a2 w) P# @• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions' ^$ i5 M* @' i3 E5 N  p1 D# [' g* Q

+ F! X' n$ h8 g" W4 A• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.' O" [( ^3 ]6 }) H$ q  Q3 h5 k

$ o' D% C. E" }8 Q6 h+ i* E• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

/ }; j" L* X( T, m/ a+ h• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting# U8 t; J( U; B- `% v# y

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

: L/ @0 B- V1 Z8 r, dSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
