Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.7 J1 X a: t# t" H
: d z' k& T0 }+ d: sCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.9 I+ d, q0 M6 P R5 p/ X

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.1 P% G, {( \, e" \* X& C1 T

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

: a/ d+ O% _( W5 q/ f! S• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

# c7 @; @/ D$ E* g! DSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
