Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.1 A1 z8 `, \" U3 Y2 [. y2 G

- K3 {, i* ]" U6 s4 ^9 lCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.( {% T7 ]) M( J8 J

  u: }+ j) W' {+ O( y) u. X7 J5 p: `  v• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.6 w* U  d0 j0 j. T5 h

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

( g/ W" ]; [8 d9 K* M- x% N• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.1 P) L7 J: b" k% r

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.8 E, F: ~) c. F% ~. |9 h3 y* F

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.- l$ q8 r% h% {4 n: F1 ~% c

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.$ [- p" N( p. c+ d' S

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

' L8 E: J& P5 w. Y% j$ `• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.. @' x/ p# j2 F; g, @

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

. s% ]8 O$ O. R8 ?8 p6 y0 L. E• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.( ?/ w4 m, q6 I; R( d7 w! Q# a7 x

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

' K9 V0 c. X/ c  n5 L• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs." Q# A8 }  T$ k

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.9 x! ?( e' n' s% P! h! g

  L# x# o( v/ ?! G• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

- Z, Z' h: f3 M8 z: {8 V• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

2 X$ [7 s* V! Q" t9 j: [6 w6 WSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.4 a. c4 F' E- ~

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
