Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

" N; l* f- D' U5 h9 ~; U, f' l• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

P( y* X# Z L/ V- G3 d• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.! E4 V5 ^5 x; X$ y' r- M

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions/ f3 x- d n3 _* F2 ?! |* `0 H
4 q) d( a+ e4 P9 Q; I• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.0 I( y! @& `- y0 y. Y g6 i* B

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.% u, ~/ W9 ^3 v3 I! K( K* S

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.5 n/ M- x7 G$ ]1 q
9 P4 P' I& x6 S' nSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
