Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

8 n1 r t$ w4 n5 u- H& p: cCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.% ~4 H m! S) Q- J, J

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.1 c9 _1 P5 H+ A0 S

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.& I) I( [6 B! H* @

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

3 h/ D1 B3 u n5 f• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions5 p' N! N7 Y6 H, H+ O/ U

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.. ?! @, g( K- ^6 ~- b; _& I+ Y7 `/ v: L4 L

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.6 j m9 R3 M8 J8 T) u% ?) M

1 f5 [: {& J+ g+ hSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
