Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.. 4 C! w! v; G& ZCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

! k- q! S& H0 O4 ^; \• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.% q& ~2 L& Q8 v

• Complete data entry in various programs.

9 V. m8 u; l- F% O• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.7 e. d6 W/ Z! E1 ~( ]1 D

' ~4 y$ _1 t! H( x$ E* T• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.7 L. v% g$ [3 R# d

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.$ P5 _: h! B0 [+ F

+ w. F: m, k& D. v1 X# N! W, b• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.' x1 Q5 t0 X& Y  [4 x

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

1 ?! A& p: U6 H8 I• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.8 M: M( V7 L! W' l

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions: |) \$ p: b. V" |" N& L4 b. u! x

1 W5 G% t5 H3 E3 \4 d• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting; G' ]) E  B+ T- Q, x  g

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.9 k, m% {1 Q+ u" b

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
