- M9 i% K' y" b( \Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.  j+ Q0 t" l% ?- f7 ^

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.7 R. o. B; ]% T+ a1 Q

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.' r& H! ^# r; C0 @: ?! Z. L7 S/ M

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.$ }, G; S: s& U. t, `' x, O2 L

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities./ q* o% R, X8 h$ y& H# L5 }

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.* _8 ?' N0 e! V) {

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

1 m0 c# h; o0 V! f• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.8 K. D; k) G" F5 {

2 m' M2 y- _, {  A! Q) }) H2 z• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

" O; x6 i0 M% m2 K• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

* _) y8 F1 u5 x. X• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

1 G4 p& P7 q: x) u. v/ ~8 D  ~• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.( R+ L* _0 \5 g, `

Fund Development7 B/ C  a$ Z7 k) g- y6 ~4 Z' t

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions
% }7 `/ C+ E7 ^* [+ }8 p+ z1 z! C7 i- D* o8 C9 h
• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.9 A/ M% x0 p- |8 v+ d

+ F9 T5 d8 X7 |- {9 u, P• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

! J- _+ @  l" C6 W• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.; v7 K2 b' q# A) H' X0 K+ [! S

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.
