Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

# x" B# m' Q3 a/ ]2 I' r5 J& OCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.& y' ~; i2 E# i& d& n3 j
5 ]6 C! I; Z" q• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.7 A& @( |# ]: N

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.7 g; y2 p- i# e% {- H9 T

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.# T& d( |0 o) l
7 z+ C# z; J$ D/ `• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.% Y: V. T( s6 B# K. H& P5 ]

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.9 q3 F; x5 P# K# }1 z: N
, n. g8 t7 _- s6 B% u, A4 W3 f• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

( W# J) V& K# [* J2 p: N! I2 OSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.4 N0 {!
