Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.3 j( u( ]4 R! k3 V9 Y6 x

% n6 x3 M6 ?- W# @$ q' `% J1 VCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.! m! x/ b  T8 ~4 H: w& |. C

Key administrative duties:

1 Y. F3 h2 ~, l8 t8 P( p• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.) q$ {7 |7 x. [. F6 X! n  ~. C

• Complete data entry in various programs.2 ]4 z: K4 x. c# I1 P) }

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

0 o- G% m3 m0 O, ^• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

) T8 f& _' y7 F8 b4 M• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

- n3 E0 Y6 @- @9 {% \. |% b• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.2 y! }, O, a. Q+ H2 V

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.# e9 e; b" C7 J* D* p2 k2 C/ A1 }

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.% U8 z! B, [" U% j& L1 T& Y

Fund Development7 n  d/ h3 ^0 A- _

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

: ?; A1 D! M) n• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.- z; i  \% {9 J7 Q7 ^# h

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting" B7 v0 l0 W+ Q* a" l$ f) l5 w

% R! D2 U- x4 l8 {Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.5 \# u* d4 E1 R4 A$ t4 \1 C# H/ c) S

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
