Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.$ q% c5 C( b! _1 e* z3 C

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.; ^( n8 M+ f2 x: ]1 K* U

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.0 O$ H4 V3 P: s. r' c! l

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions) i/ }9 u, A5 h5 M8 q: f& u
2 k1 U1 e4 R, g+ R' f) D• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

) Z9 y* M* D) Q/ WSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
