' ]5 |* H- `1 T/ H& O. l* lCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

3 X( Q/ E" K, _# c• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.
- Y/ R% v7 a0 e6 N0 c- c  k0 e( z# z. h; x, g9 e' g; A# g
• Complete data entry in various programs.

4 c5 b6 o+ f! O• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.. U7 \5 o. r7 T

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual., X! N4 ^; g1 O3 X

% S3 e5 c: n" [" I  K- B5 E• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.% X( R( ?) d# T: y

, W% D1 }# ^( O( R" u# Q• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.8 y. e% c* \( K
& X2 k& E7 Y, ]' X% N% k3 w
• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

Key program support duties

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:4 c/ j* a) h9 ~  s1 p# d

7 {* _" B' k0 r8 Q• Maintain inventory of communication materials.: f$ U1 G6 s: z

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

2 i' a( J+ _1 Z/ J" j2 ^2 D* j• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.; v& h; D9 y/ r# I6 C4 E, N* z

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.: k' Q9 w9 B; f3 Z+ C. M( ^
) k7 i% I! S8 N, B" d# |; L+ ], H
• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.5 X: [" h6 K) j! c, G, h
) V' _( K# z) q7 n
• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.2 Z7 `4 a( U8 s0 ~0 ~/ t

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development
/ W1 [9 i( W. p# b/ z) @! k5 H5 U2 d  D, c
• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions8 n) {1 Q& z# S4 Z, a% p
+ e0 a$ B; K/ ~7 q
• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.9 t5 v! ?+ \, e/ O. w7 D, n
! @; _+ @4 ?$ V0 p1 ~, h; ~; B' O
• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

: M( J8 M- H) R1 eSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.5 B- w& f% D; G4 U  Z9 m
