Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.+ `, c/ q4 J# D1 b- f

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions, F5 o* M; W& W U/ y

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.! G5 a$ B1 V1 _
( z5 U9 l; W- ?$ U9 r' w• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.% p& C: K1 M) {- ]. S
% ~+ p; r }% Z' F• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting' M7 C" M& y' T4 @- F. G
" T9 }. t, |$ G4 Y• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required., O7 p, r1 |5 ]* o2 R* S
5 s" } k0 O ^Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.3 m; m- u, x& c) R4 N8 m) h) x
