CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.' Q0 _5 R) h Y

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.& [2 M3 r% C$ R

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities. p! w* r) T5 \: l5 f: c
) a" v$ g* K3 \% l1 ~* x- S4 }• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

7 T9 \* B! ] m. q3 ~• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.$ a+ u% x3 a4 q2 W0 o$ v

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.7 V \3 }. w" d; I

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

& P* B& W% ^, \& Z) t& x. `3 @, c• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development5 i# _+ S4 K, J( X
, z7 A$ v T W# M, n• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.8 }$ v( h- Z+ y* V% V

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.* v" @. w5 f# z* J: u! |
