Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

. k4 \; V6 f) r+ x8 ?7 \" f3 m* CCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

4 |& g, H0 \ ~+ T v• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.# q$ O* x! s6 q& m. Y

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.0 `( G% c z: Z5 H$ m# b

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes., n0 g* o1 j0 D5 T/ f- B

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

7 S2 n4 Q$ m$ B& E# B• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.# X* I3 A) m( g" _3 B: Y; j, L

% W7 e1 V7 _" X$ p. F, a; J• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.8 L) Q# Y8 X6 {0 n, i

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions9 x4 `& D1 U. }2 _6 S' {( X7 L* x

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.1 j5 z- U0 E) A/ b5 z

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

, y/ f- S6 U' |% a# USkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
