CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.* f( l; ?" ?/ e( L0 u

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.) q6 }6 e/ _3 M, [: E

* o$ x  X, m# x• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.& R9 B0 g- l# v2 Y$ t8 u

& K9 @2 S- R, P& o6 U! Q) k) b, Y• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.5 [5 q1 m, a; @

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.% q1 Q9 w# t3 V: }9 f8 x; ^6 y, e

' e# i3 v, I* v5 i" w• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.* n/ o& I7 o2 a! I! p5 V3 T0 [

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.4 V; e$ q& @4 f( O1 H- ]

$ O' l* Q! w( i- R3 N• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

$ M$ X% q  e; A& o• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.1 x4 v" c, M: P" s3 o, B6 X# k" V

Key program support duties

4 e. {3 [& s: ?% Y; s, Z• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.$ o" {3 _* N+ T4 v% L2 l* ]5 t

" a9 v7 Z0 M) I- Q3 O• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.5 h" V/ W2 C0 C9 r- N) F+ D: H

Fund Development' v( G8 r* V0 {* j; V9 I

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions* ]  B4 o7 J5 E8 y+ B

% X) E8 G( j) ~& B2 _" R• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
