Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

& Q8 Z, D$ G& x3 ZCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.0 o, y$ V) ~0 R$ a4 U% s2 U- i7 |7 l

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.7 p" Y2 M* ]8 Y0 T6 d8 t1 M- }

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.  L) a# o' D# B; `& B/ g3 b2 F% s

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

7 u9 ]' U- X7 h: p: q• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.( V" Z0 L, J* k/ F" l8 v

Fund Development- n' @" d8 R# c. R( [+ c

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions1 S0 }$ C2 N6 h: e% m8 ^

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.' M% t# \2 o7 |" \  [

0 ^/ m+ u2 S( S2 m  q9 U; V• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.1 j7 m+ Z5 I5 K4 W( \$ k

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
