Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

9 Q- w8 v. ^0 T• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

. V( S* c5 M8 N7 a( q2 u& @ `: B( t• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.4 \0 D( X: O9 B: J# K3 B

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.+ w6 x1 F3 t0 A. b% L0 U( [

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

3 L0 G4 x; c+ V" a$ e• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.; `# z2 {/ E( Y2 E. V/ L
! Z; |# _7 T+ f- f' g% o# I• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

0 G# ]0 L! q' eSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
