CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling./ j* K. l: T5 Y% H9 a
* p& d" F+ @! Y" ?! W• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.& m n$ q# r/ A5 ?

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.' x! B6 a- O( ]4 J

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.. C( O+ t7 X+ B
. s$ E r& q1 f$ g• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development. G7 u, q' c/ ?' X6 t' V
d" @& K( l9 |/ h• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions; m7 G o' ]+ ~) o
% m+ I: s" A! n# B* Z3 Q- v$ ]- f1 r5 ^• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.2 @6 M! D& L6 i1 |8 Y

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.( Q1 p" Q& P$ A' o! z

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.1 b% ?"
