Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.9 T% ?5 \- b& I6 r' q

* H: t6 f' q9 b/ uCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.  F: u8 |! u# l

( H' l) m; d; m* O7 `* U• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.; z% D" x3 q: E! f' T

6 f; {0 t% ^# K5 q- {+ o, k( x• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.+ b' w2 l# {* d: v" ]5 ?5 a* x

+ `2 p7 {  d3 z8 P8 x• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.! k# K( F* F3 ~1 c3 L# O

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management./ r! k" L. P0 z

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.4 {( X8 P/ |2 y" c

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

" P. S  ?1 M. I4 w' }$ Z- [• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.( E" c$ m" w9 I" g. d; R4 z" {

  K) X  {$ Y" ?; J7 O" e• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.! Z+ q) y& _% p/ J/ Y) w

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions5 C) Q! j, n; E9 Y3 I, |

/ M  W4 c& ^, K4 O• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.& M, {: M- o: E! W, G

. }8 F, B+ Z4 d  l! g) K8 Q# O( ]9 z• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting( q/ D2 E' {& g2 ?2 n9 H' ]% ^

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required., i* F2 ?* H3 @( ?8 D

- h. d+ p6 o3 o$ |% ISkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.1 V* l8 z- |( R1 y" @; h" \7 S7 d

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
