Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

: j, k& }. c* s/ U" R9 mCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.2 q  B$ c( a+ y8 O3 f# {: Q

: E6 p$ U9 [) l. z5 b6 N$ r• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.2 d, N6 S! ?! `; \' S

• Complete data entry in various programs.+ d5 m* V0 j0 D2 D

$ V) V* u5 a  }% f1 {: R• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.; r4 b6 d* D6 Q1 ]0 _2 j' d+ W

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

* M6 q: q! M# r+ q• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions
! M7 `1 D+ u7 p2 }1 j" g  A! E3 s" p4 t
• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.9 I5 Q& S$ t$ q; n3 f

3 ]* y: U5 P, F) @+ H/ _& K  k• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

  H! ?1 o+ R! h* L" M• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting: g& S! c' S( K1 e

% Q+ r3 h; j; l) o/ S• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.1 `6 U9 U2 u' I! R7 d

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.6 K4 s) E% y" M- |/ ?: ^
