Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.9 ^3 g+ y* T( |5 q& ?5 r# G$ M( i

G. pCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.# Z+ i, r/ h) h, e

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.5 ^- ]1 j+ b* Y; _8 p9 I/ b6 m

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.: d) u: ]" T0 o. s( [

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.2 g# @' Y# _* Q1 T( Z5 n3 E. i# q
4 V; M4 \+ W& O, Y• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling. |5 s8 `# ?4 U9 f: T) ^% e
& }( ?6 V3 K' w5 P; ]' }• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

+ n( y! { G0 c• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.: N) B6 _! T2 _! b
! K+ U9 c2 y# x0 j• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.; J3 L% \; {$ d

Fund Development

! w- R$ h: q" X. H; G* |• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions* u) {4 @% n& o7 ^ T2 N
, P0 K: d; R! f, c* l$ d/ L# L! ]• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.8 P4 Q/ a/ E" O9 z @! R/ U

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.# P9 Y8 d# @ |" u; C# {$ _/ @
