Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

B7 T5 bCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.& v/ x b9 N4 S7 A6 U

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.) i7 x( Z: u( Z

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.# T' q: y) G& c' L( U5 _) A. g

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications: k6 }, P# K7 v( O

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

% P9 M1 U0 y4 _: W- z, i5 i1 J, g• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.2 h# u+ E! h# O% C5 g( G% |
; V% Y1 [5 s- L3 Q! ^7 t0 \" R• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

: e2 c2 E+ C* f$ b L h4 J• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.7 ~) A, V' }3 W9 n0 m

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events." O; _) Y, y; E7 @/ v' B) c9 ~1 n

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.: r& b( Q/ N& j1 G
