Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.8 l: I9 g/ o" X* r0 z

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.: \% B" Z: V1 O$ S# P; U1 O4 i

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.% |2 K, F$ [9 ~' @

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.& h( u: B- \+ L6 L

) E; o& y; @9 p1 R) {# l8 _• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.  m+ e" A, z& M: ?) {

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.5 {$ e3 Y6 i* b% c$ K7 C

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes." P" `4 J- e" h4 h

) m0 _: p' a( T/ C• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

6 O7 C6 p* E  y, }% G/ ]• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

/ [$ C& p8 z$ y* g; N• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.' B: a9 d/ I  k' N9 T

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

- p: \6 ~6 v8 s9 @* W# \- H" G$ D• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.' c0 d4 }7 T7 k$ t( ]( {

4 G3 U! [9 I& A) _Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.7 g& x" ]7 @& Z* W+ P0 }  M, B

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
