CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.# T9 O! x& L. _) m8 l

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.3 ^; [) l7 I$ w4 T

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.0 _4 \2 O r8 u* w: w
& q! j% F- `/ _' v1 u/ g8 t) m• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

! v+ d7 k% m( @2 F• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions. d; U! s' N9 w* B" P% y

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.. i7 d; K0 H& G4 o) i+ m" Z, W9 s2 L

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.# T6 Z! C/ z# ]6 N; _

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting1 n8 w# P( e* A) X

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
