Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.9 ?: F! r4 r5 q) n0 d

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.4 L! a6 e; E% \! A  ^- ]

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups./ Z  @4 h% p: C: P$ q/ t

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

. D" t" w0 @5 _8 n2 u• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.8 G) H4 m1 X% s0 L. r& u6 i

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.: Q# \8 D) q: h/ V& T

* y9 q# J' v4 @• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions# L, K) T/ j  p; e( {6 Y

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

) `, f, q  K& @" W( v; I• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.4 q, S5 \# w; G; \

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.! q. G& z3 H  A$ ?; n6 j: v

6 H! b2 i9 o+ hSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.4 W( n  m+ B; Q!
