Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

# B% b+ u: B+ B" _CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.& X4 V& I- P h W

7 w! G6 L# O1 I' N+ h- J& e• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.* C$ h- ^: K) k- k* N

& E$ n+ R, L6 ?+ s• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

j) E8 s @, g6 N• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

Y' h1 h/ d7 x6 j1 O& q• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.+ r4 |+ \; k% i( m ~
( t) q7 g2 ]' S• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

" n# B* ^; `& s4 g6 }* P0 A! zSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
