Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.2 B8 t, g* O0 [& f6 f

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.+ X- n% X! P& I) j
1 H/ Q$ M" O# W: E2 r* ~4 `) q• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions, i9 t _) {+ g* q9 G- m

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.% p( x6 O/ G* ~* G* p
) h1 Y0 R9 l; Z0 U1 G$ K* f) U• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.7 @* X* I9 Z3 Y% }/ c1 X- c0 I

# E" h/ W$ y) r/ hSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
