CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.. M0 G) j2 W0 X# Y! k$ V

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.4 Y+ _4 G& `  h, f

$ f1 K7 I  S- {2 g• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.; ], d7 j' O: N! m0 \

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.# X+ h4 {% Q6 q1 Q6 W9 l0 J

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.9 w0 O& \+ f' r( |8 i/ U6 E' F: b

( R8 G% \2 K: `" e• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.: @$ \1 {: q3 X2 ^% x  F2 ^& Q7 p

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.# z/ T9 ~, H! d  ]* X7 \

4 @0 h" n, {' W& I" I) O9 a• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.7 z( ~; B: u6 }  Q" E! x/ s

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.8 ~2 V% J8 ^- R) ?( i

$ w- N  k8 v$ u2 n! g• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

; A+ u) [; _" B• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

$ t0 u4 o0 L! p* D• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport." l/ o+ X3 p0 L- s+ W6 G: F- B) {

Fund Development

9 z& m8 Z; n5 m. |
• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

/ r5 G2 b3 m* \% G' }% Y8 b! ~9 b• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.% g6 T; N9 F$ K; P

Spanish language abilities are an asset.

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
