Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.( O2 w, v8 G3 e" ]# R3 p9 f1 E

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.7 R& X* Y/ k9 Z0 w: |. a

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes./ q) T' t% k6 z: i5 [

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.+ h9 c) n( ~3 |

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.% n2 {- J$ L6 t2 X) s& a; n

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

* \3 m/ @: k7 b5 P4 H. K2 S• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

. V. d! E( s% W• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.$ T1 D9 D w# g" K( }
