Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.2 G5 R N# h" _

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.) W( y6 h# b) `4 A! z

. s4 _" n! F J5 s) n: V1 d) D• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.% i( Z4 E0 n* j+ z u7 w! [

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.- D$ P2 r9 s% C& M

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.4 [8 l& N& I* ~7 c) P
7 b/ K& B5 Z/ {4 `6 t• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.8 N. I( A: h$ _' P8 }$ b& |8 ^6 ^( i
( q& b. S. d3 y6 m' R c8 i• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.9 t+ w5 W8 U4 m! S+ P. D# m5 a( J

: ]; ~2 j8 G! u+ z2 bSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.- E% u& ]" V$ |% R! x9 S
