Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.) z! r+ H7 d# D( q' [
: L" R. k3 @/ S' N) u/ `$ ECHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.8 G6 {, b; F0 ]1 T' \- Y i# D3 v9 M
6 w' h/ k" p8 ]7 f• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.3 C9 h( a, q: R

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.( v6 C3 Q4 _- R6 y

' h4 s9 P3 f$ v' j O3 w6 _0 E: h0 S• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

) m& g$ ^- H6 X, N2 K• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

& L! ~; T* R& R' {+ O3 D• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

% O/ n" ^3 L4 D' G7 d. \) |• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.+ p! K5 ]" j3 K0 N) B4 m
+ \8 i c' u! J: t' Y9 y/ K• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.) o r+ J W+ I ^$ E) n
