CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

' @0 M! K3 y, Q4 `( H7 x• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.( H1 {) k. I. N% Q/ s

! Q2 g. S! o1 N, O6 c' s& R• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.& v* B7 _4 G: y- Y2 g9 @$ }

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes., f {% o! p5 v( \

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

; U' b; w2 }$ w6 i# d, ]9 g5 P• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

7 T% P! @0 r. i8 {1 s0 M. O T• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

) z/ ^" V. D F4 e6 k$ O; H• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

8 }3 k+ X# _* |, m" A8 h• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required., n- n. C7 x: `+ h& k& ^
" L c, T% X+ F( ]" {9 G3 ]Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
