CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.- Q, z; ^. ^6 ]( z1 p

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs. u/ d0 Q" Q0 E2 ~: V x) X
6 B. c3 B4 R. H, q• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.* W* n9 c/ s$ e! c0 {+ A

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.' t* M) T1 s p6 m* N& R2 s

6 F7 t$ u( B# b+ F6 x• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

/ n& H, r) k) ^/ R3 L) {) E• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

" N2 M' C* s' O5 t• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.; I8 P( D4 B! y

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

% e. U8 \3 W: w' [% O% j; d' y• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.7 U: y6 ^% H- x* n# P g
4 Y1 F1 e5 N" b( ]Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
