Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.0 c, {" F O3 [9 q; @7 X

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

' a1 _3 g; ?8 y• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.% T" q# \, z& Q% ]! d% F4 q0 \# s

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions$ q0 f' g% b) {. D
! l+ O% Q: k" h• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

' v! O4 ^, ^* y" }5 H' N9 G• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
