9 a  a7 x2 j  hCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.) |4 O- b3 W' V

' H' G7 @7 T( @" m4 k• Complete data entry in various programs.5 D$ u$ F" x. m1 h( t* I

# u1 b8 U: O* ]1 Z9 N0 q; K• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.$ L0 i: x' F- K) ^; J; p

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.8 Y$ J/ y! E/ D5 c

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.# f: ?. O( A! f

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

9 X- F( a, }/ F. |. S• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

Key program support duties

• Maintain inventory of communication materials., h# [. J7 L5 b: ?! X

; e% x7 r6 H4 H0 m0 p4 `% `• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.4 I. M! c+ |: L- j# t. q3 r, i4 {

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.2 d; B# ]; \. W

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes., w' i. Y4 p2 v  q! ^8 X+ ~% J: I

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

* I% S7 [8 e$ C( V4 x+ F1 `9 l• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions+ ^# C/ p7 F( B4 f9 F

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.
! e" r1 ?6 H* k; t3 ^4 B7 H6 l8 L1 ]
• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting
& T6 G' N6 {0 ]2 Z; O: i2 ~1 K* W. Y; U$ k; U
• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

8 S5 s* _$ p0 t- {  J  a  t6 `' aSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.5 |  _% Q/ q- B3 d

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.
