Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.6 W5 l L5 ^, I+ T, }. c$ F1 f
+ W6 D6 [+ y% y/ {# {CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.+ @& ^, E5 T8 D# ^

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling. f2 D( D5 R3 W

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.8 K) r. L$ }4 `
! _' F9 q. @* O• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.* C8 r8 C- V/ c9 u, n

w0 s9 U" e2 \7 U" X• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions1 W8 s7 V6 v& Q# h
* @7 ]* q8 z& v' V. e j* D• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

0 e1 D/ o0 L9 T) v' c# z• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events. ^; m/ Q- C7 @0 h

/ ]+ ^7 D( @: d0 v# i! U• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

) h* V2 N$ H/ W O( n* J; lSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
