Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.0 _% I) g3 z' l

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.) [9 B0 r7 z! h0 m" [6 @: U) P8 C& d

/ R: N  g5 l4 H, a" f• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.4 R1 X9 Y* p1 `  u+ d

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.) U1 G6 C- ?. j0 x1 w

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:. [% l% A  s1 ?( U8 d

2 J% [! K$ b) o" M3 [, S• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.! o2 y5 \! r! ?0 I

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions: {; v4 f% c" x7 [9 [( X3 Z

* T- i1 @2 N- t5 ~• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.& ~5 M  S( \7 u# s3 w
0 {  j7 s( s$ \# ]1 v
• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.' E5 c5 {" y( V( @2 p: _  q2 G
  r2 @4 |* u2 z
• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting# r. [( g7 ]6 J

0 R8 N. k+ K: d2 y6 g• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.+ n/ u+ ?/ F7 I9 w! D$ L

& s/ ~, |) j1 H& lSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.)
