The Area Team Leader for the 2009 Christmas Kettle Campaign is a short term, contract worker that plays an integral role in The Salvation Army’s Public Relations and Development Department in Edmonton.  Individuals are responsible for the general oversight of multiple Christmas Kettles in one geographic area.  This includes recruiting, scheduling, and supervising volunteers; liaising with location contacts; and working as a team with the City Coordinator and Assistant City Coordinator.

( D! q5 e: I% r5 N% F0 Q0 w) `§         Recruit and schedule volunteers in a designated area

§         Liaise daily with team members and businesses

4 w1 l, l, D& d" [§         Track of and submit paperwork as required, including timesheets and expense reports

§         Complete a Final Report for the area and submit it on time

Qualifications

    * Preference will be given to those graduated from or currently enrolled in Volunteer Management,  
3 }) ]5 O. X& V0 F    * Business Administration, or Human Resources.  Relevant experience will be considered.
    * Excellent communication and organizational skills
5 t" `: |( I8 j! V. {    * Capable of supervising and coaching volunteers and employees
    * Can work well individually and as a team player
. @: y8 b8 U: j. H- X    * Ability to make quick decisions accurately
  k$ q1 c) v: w    * Capacity to retain large amounts of information

§         Work Monday to Saturday (4:30 pm – 9:30 pm), from November 16 until Dec 24, 2009

§         Overtime will not be paid unless previously approved

§         Must have access to a personal vehicle
