24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS# @+ A- |! k1 r% Y: c
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
9 ^/ s+ C, E0 p7 ^# D. g3 dEligibility Criteria: ]! ?( m! a1 O
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
1 M7 q( T* }7 k( [•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less" a" F# q7 K7 @+ r0 ^. t/ n$ f
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education5 n" k+ H: {/ u! f( Q, C, p
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English( H+ T" N( d0 ]( f5 W0 f2 b9 d
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada 8 i" s4 b9 Y/ g7 f# v8 v
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
5 c( `6 N9 p* Q& i•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
; |) ^/ v6 y j/ z0 @•Be eligible to work in Canada# Z9 Z5 R- m6 n ]
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
8 U4 `. K: U8 H+ \6 a) P•Lack access to professional networks3 F) o1 z0 Q: q! D2 L
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

8 L! P+ k' f' }9 w/ b8 rThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
