24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
& ]/ n" ~' p" W LThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
) j. I1 B; Q. P4 s2 i# h) WEligibility Criteria$ ~! k+ W1 n# [+ S
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:2 y3 z+ g* \: @& q4 J
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less9 o2 c. I# t G3 S) L
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
8 B- v5 r: _( m4 o# c8 w•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
3 g" M8 i7 ^3 W3 y- X•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada 5 h, E, m) D# G D# k- Y
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field1 i! T7 R% K9 v" z
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
6 w) d3 z: V+ ?$ H7 m•Be eligible to work in Canada
! h' B8 }' V& Z- x+ c•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop

•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning% X/ E" _9 ]+ l# B
Time Commitment6 ?; R" ^( y9 N
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
