In this and any flu season, it is important to take responsibility for' R6 G- G5 J( u
your own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the9 O F9 c* R: k* S) p9 d
influenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close
* w4 j0 V; b, F! X. x/ R% y: `contact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
. U4 }7 `6 B' `4 Hdoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and5 [5 `9 V* e" [# U- s$ T, S$ Y
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.
% Y$ c( D' ^& O( a; B: ~Practicing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your: g, K! B3 F3 A6 F
cough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta
