Responsibilities:
4 q7 W$ z& d# M$ T-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
8 o# @0 {' T. U* e-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
+ N7 {( U- j0 ^-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
: ?3 j# D: W# z! g-        Experience doing program development
  u3 o% x) C1 C0 h9 U- m) w-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
# o! h% u, v" U/ V* X- P% g  ~7 X-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
  d( r1 y3 L  p: ~' I$ @- c-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
1 z6 M8 S# m" s9 F2 \-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
' T% a. {6 N0 R6 L9 `: L-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
- O7 X( Z" k8 d! K' h6 |  k-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
