Responsibilities:
) h6 V" V/ e' \# ^7 U5 t* ?- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth4 w9 X! W* P* {
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling& d4 s1 ^' S& v. @% V" y+ Y
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups( t- u Q. K0 {- V
- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
" W3 _6 \" k6 G: J- G# t9 p- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
8 u2 |* J; r, d" `5 i% o- v- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
; n& y* b' {0 F2 c n: I- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
9 i; U( D" c% p" u8 O- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others2 l) \# I/ x6 _) W" M) ], Z; i1 _
- Experience doing program development
/ j- v% y( g3 ^$ e- Strong organizational and coordination skills
+ ?" X5 k7 D |) m( P, |8 F- Self-directed and able to take initiative) d$ I5 d/ f5 W8 ~/ X, w9 {
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset) J# ?% f/ K' @# u, Z) U) B
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license9 g4 C# V4 Z$ d0 t2 m$ S9 Y

Assets:
3 K; Q) K, e: t: }- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation

- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health

- Some evening and weekend work may be required
