Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
) h6 V" V/ e' \# ^7 U5 t* ?-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
" W3 _6 \" k6 G: J- G# t9 p-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
8 u2 |* J; r, d" `5 i% o- v-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
; n& y* b' {0 F2 c  n: I-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
9 i; U( D" c% p" u8 O-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
/ j- v% y( g3 ^$ e-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
+ ?" X5 k7 D  |) m( P, |8 F-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
3 K; Q) K, e: t: }-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
0 J8 z8 f. F$ _# L-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
1 ~, r0 g) H* a-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
